MCSO is asking for the public’s help in locating 12-year-old Leon Curley. Leon was last seen on 11/19/2024 at about 10:45 AM when he was dropped off at L. Thomas Heck Middle School located at 12448 W. Bethany Home Road, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. Leon was scheduled to arrive back at his residence at 3:40 PM via school bus, but he never arrived.

Buckeye police are currently on scene investigating a double shooting near McDowell Rd and Sienna Hills Pkwy. There is no suspect outstanding and no danger to the community.

UPDATE: At approximately 10:45 a.m. this morning, Buckeye Police received a call of a shooting in a neighborhood near McDowell Road and Sienna Hills Pkwy. When officers arrived at the home, they located a woman in her early 20s laying in the doorway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the back. Officers also located a male in his early 20s on the ground in front of the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Officers performed life-saving measures on both individuals. The woman was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. This appears to have been a domestic violence situation with victim and suspect being former romantic partners. The investigation is ongoing.

This morning, 0912, units from Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Dept. and AFMA were dispatched to 3000 s. palo verde rd in Buckeye for a sky diving accident.

Upon arrival they found an adult male whose canopy reportedly collapsed somewhere between 20 - 40 feet above the ground leading to a rapid, uncontrolled, landing. The patient was transported to West Valley Hospital as a level 1 trauma for definitive medical care.
