Very sad to hear of Shannen Doherty's passing, she was a real profile of courage in sharing everything she was going through- and she wasn't just some "Gen X Idol" as some articles have been titled. I directly referenced her interview from 2020 in my script for "SECOND GEN" - "I definitely have days where I say, 'Why me?' And then I go, 'Well, why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this?' None of us do."

In one of her final podcast episodes before her death, Shannen Doherty shared that she was going through the 'hardest time' with her cancer journey.

Very sad to hear of Morgan Spurlock's passing. He revolutionized documentary filmmaking, television documentaries and their accessibility to audiences. I got to see the premiere of "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold" when it premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2011.

25 Years Ago "The Blair Witch Project" premiered at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival - still one of my Top 10 favorite movies of all time. It might not have started the found footage movement but its place in history can't be denied.

The low-budget found-footage sensation made its debut January 23, 1999 at the Sundance Film Festival, setting off a big year for horror.

It's been pretty interesting that our Five Clover Films short film subjects have been a little ahead of the curve of "predicting" the future. "CADENCE" (2008) noted how technology would drive apart relationships being able to form at the start (umm... Tinder?). "4 Pictures" (2010) had an undercurrent of whether cheating online in a game was considered relationship cheating (and looking back the boyfriend Aaron probably got off the hook too easily), and "SECOND GEN" (2022) is building an second-generation AI that allows us to still be able to talk to someone who has passed away.

Advanced artificial intelligence can build remarkably convincing avatars of lost loved ones. Some experts fear they could stop people from every truly letting go.

Now THIS is a special one- F short "SECOND GEN" was named "BEST FILM" of the online 2023 competition "Night of Drama Shorts", the first time one of our films has EVER received a best film of an entire competition/festival, AND this was the 40TH (!) film festival acceptance/screening for "SECOND GEN". WOW, THANK YOU so much to the cast, crew and team that made this film idea into a reality and the MOST SUCCESSFULLY RECEIVED / ACCEPTED film we've ever made!
