💥Check your headshots for these 🆃🅷🆁🅴🅴 mistakes:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1️⃣ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: Make sure no shadows are on your face, especially around your eyes. Your face should be bright and well lit since it is the most important aspect of your photo. The background should NOT drown out your head, hair or face. Brighter backgrounds or blurry backgrounds should cause you to "pop" forward and make you the focal point.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ 𝐈𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: Check to see if your headshot is in focus by looking closely at your EYES. If your eyes are clear and sharp, the photo is well focused. A really good headshot might even reveal the camera reflection in your eye! If your eyes seem blurry or fuzzy, the camera is either out of focus or the resolution is low. Both are a BIG red flag when looking at professional headshots!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

3️⃣ 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠: Headshots are typically a MID SHOT of your body. Not a 3/4 body shot and certainly not a full body shot. The purpose of a headshot is to see your face and you should be commanding most of the frame. Having extra background space or an ill-framed headshot will cause your photo to drown in a sea of headshot submissions and reflect an unprofessional photo.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✨ (Ben) is the director of photography and video editor at Theriot Productions. He started his photography career when his grandmother gave him an old film camera in 2015 and has been obsessed with creating beautiful images ever since. When he's not shooting award winning short films or demo reel scenes with Theriot Productions, he enjoys taking photos of the night sky.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✨ (Nate) Nate is the Director and Executive Producer at Theriot Productions. He got his start in film and television in 2013 with a B.A. in Media Studies from the University of Southern Maine. Since then, he has trained in Meisner, Adler, and Strasberg techniques and has booked over 50 projects ranging from narrative to commercial and everything in between. When he's not on set acting, writing, or directing, Nate will most likely be found on a golf course.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
