One of my favorite memories of my Grandpa is also one of my last ones. He developed dementia later in his life and I didnât get to see him much as we lived in different states, he in Texas and I in Florida, Kentucky, and North Carolina. But this memory I have, is about 20 years ago now. My family and I traveled to TX over the holidays and visited some of our extended family. I remember getting to my grandparents house, he was sitting out back, sort of on his own, maybe somewhat unaware of what was going on. I went out to see him and sat down to chat with him. There were the ânormalâ chit chat points starting out. But then I asked him if he would tell me some stories or things he remembered about when he was a pilot during WWII. I remember seeing his face change, like, a part of him was awoken. He went on to vividly recount several stories of flights, trips, a mission. He must have talked for half an hour. I donât really know, I was lost in what he told us, as it was now several others who had joined us. It was a tender, real, and heart-felt conversation that I hope I never forget.
Sadly, it is but a memory.
Our Legacy Films is a result, in part, of this memory. I want to capture stories like my Grandpa told me that day, for others and their families. Iâve created several of these over time and each one is met with tears. Having been in the media business for over 20 years, Iâve interviewed and had the privilege of telling countless stories. Memories are priceless. And so is the ability to see and hear the recounting of some of those memories as well. If this is something youâre interested in, Iâd love to talk with you. Weâre offering new flexible payment plans and pricing. What a wonderful gift to be able to give this Christmas, the gift of sharing a familyâs legacy with your loved ones. If your parents are getting older, what a great gift to go in with your siblings on together.
