Today Shaqtoberfest is holding an open Casting Call/ Auditions for anybody you know that would love to be a part of our Scare Family, and become a Monster.

Applications can be done online(preferably), Shaqtoberfest.com, under the actors tab,
OR onsite from 1-6 pm.

Today is one year exactly from when I had my surgery to remove the cancerous tumor on my left kidney. I was a medical anomaly with zero symptoms of all the problems it caused me. A month before I found this out I lost almost my whole family to covid. My wife stayed by my side and so many people in my life showed me love and support. Thanks to UCLA and Dr. Chamie I am alive to inspire people to go after their dreams like I am. I have kept my promise to never work a normal job again and continue to get new opportunities for all my talents.

Received this yesterday! It sounds promising for SAG/AFTRA actors!!

If you’re concerned that there won’t be any acting work available during the strike, we’re here to tell you…

that’s simply NOT TRUE.

And we can prove it: every day, more and more productions are signing Interim Agreements allowing SAG-AFTRA actors to work on union projects!

As of 7/24/2023, 78 film and TV projects have been authorized by SAG-AFTRA to work. And that number grows every day.

In fact, a fairly well-known LA rep posted that they received 7 audition requests for their clients this past Sunday:

Even in “regular” times, auditions don’t come in at that high a rate on Sundays.

SO, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

There is still work to be had! And with the number of Interim Agreements increasing every day, the number of roles available will just keep growing.

What exactly are Interim Agreements?

They are SAG-AFTRA contracts issued to independent production companies that agree to all the requests we’ve made to the AMPTP. To check out current projects signed to Interim Agreements, CLICK HERE.

Why are they good?

It shows the AMPTP - the most wealthy producers around - that if independent producers and filmmakers can afford the requests we’ve made, then our ask is REASONABLE and not unaffordable.

What they AREN’T:

Waivers. Nobody is waiving any rights here. We stand with SAG-AFTRA and believe that everyone deserves to be paid well and protected as an artist.

The press likes to throw the word "waiver" around like SAG-AFTRA is making exceptions.

They’re not.

These independent filmmakers have entered into the most desirable contract available to SAG-AFTRA actors at this time in good faith.

SAG-AFTRA actors have all the protections afforded by their union membership PLUS increases in pay that help make working on projects less of a hustle and more sustainable.

Because we all deserve that.
