My goal for 2025 is simple - fix the incorrect belief surrounding the presumption of correctness.

To achieve meaningful progress for liberty, we must challenge some deeply ingrained habits and mindsets held by a large portion of the population. One of the most significant issues is the presumption of correctness when dealing with government officials and agents.

This presumption stems from the belief that the state always acts in the public’s best interest, with the expertise, resources, and authority to make fair and just decisions. Over time, this trust has been reinforced by institutional power, media influence, and historical precedent.

However, this unquestioning trust can lead to complacency, excessive government power, and a lack of accountability. To counter this, we must promote transparency, public scrutiny, and stronger checks and balances. Encouraging critical thinking, emphasizing individual responsibility, and ensuring that government actions are consistently reviewed by independent bodies or the public will help foster a healthy skepticism. By shifting from blind trust to active engagement and oversight, we can reduce the risks of unchecked government power and protect our liberties.
