My Story
My name is Shellee and I am the owner/designer here at Rise and Design. I started this page back in 20.....15 maybe? Can’t remember, but it’s been a few years and I began the page to share my furniture makeovers with just the few people who seemed interested at the time! I give credit to my mama who taught me EVERYTHING I know about painting. I had absolutely no confidence that I was going to be able to do it, but as with everything, she convinced me to give it a shot and what do you know.....she was right, as usual (now if I only knew this back when I was a stubborn teenager! but that’s a different story). Ok, back to my story. So I began this page as “Flipping Out Furniture” and I strictly painted furniture, then I dabbled in making vinyl decals and using them as stencils on my furniture. This allowed me to change up my style of painting a bit and I was able to do “themed” pieces with mermaids, anchors, animals, hunting scenes, etc. But I didn’t want to stop there, I am a complete sucker for anything personalized! So while I kept painting I began to also make personalized items such as cups, signs, tumblers, vehicle decals, t-shirts, etc. This has opened so many more doors for me and I fell in love with designing which, long story short(ish), has led me to what I am doing today, March 2019!
Personalization is something you can never give enough of, if you’re anything like me. Who doesn’t love something that is customized just for them? Personalized gifts are great to give to family, friends, coworkers, spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, groomsmen, bridesmaids, teachers, bosses, anyone!
