More showers possible this afternoon
Showers could develop on the back side of the cold front that moved through last night and bring additional showers to the area. More showers and storms are expected on the 4th. Some these storms have the potential to be severe, but the severity is rather low as of right now.

Strong to severe storms continue to push through the Heartland. Meteorologist Matt Gunn KTVO has the latest.
AWW: Care staff were seen feeding baby Humboldt penguins that hatched at the Brookfield Zoo in Illinois recently. The zoo said a pair of penguins are acting as foster parents to one of the chicks after its egg was laid at Columbus Zoo. It added that this move was part of a species survival plan that "focuses on enhancing the genetic diversity and sustainability of wildlife."

Severe weather likely this afternoon and evening
Damaging winds this evening will be the primary concern with an isolated tornado risk included. Additionally, temperatures will be summer like with heat index values going into the triple digits in northeast Missouri. Stay weather aware this afternoon and evening!
