Had the opportunity to work with the inspiring this past weekend as part of his Juicing for Health tour. Harold Leffal is a father, cancer survivor, healthy lifestyle influencer and entrepreneur. One of the things a love about my work is the opportunity to meet fascinating people doing good work in the world. This was a great event, filled with excellent information on health and clean living, and the juice game was on point! Gonna have to get me one of those to bring home to my kitchen. Many thanks to my good friend Vaneese for the connection!

A few of my favs from a shoot I did with my good friend Jenni back in December. She wanted ocean side portraits for a project and I wanted to experiment with flash in an outdoor setting, so we set out for Marin and had a great session with a spectacular and unexpected sunset show at the end of the day. Plus getting outside for projects like this, coupled with her infectious smile and laughter, made my job super easy.

I’ve really come to enjoy and appreciate the connection that comes from creating photo art together, it’s different in some technical ways from my work as a musician, but the collaboration is just as deep. Miles de gracias y un abrazo fuerte a .sharyid for being a such a great friend and holding some of those poses just a little bit longer in the freezing December air!

I’m currently booking photo sessions for summer and fall, so hit me up if you’ve got something in mind.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared projects here. 2023 was a super busy year with activities and engagements back to back for MONTHS - hardly time to get things done, let alone post and share. At one point I counted 27 projects/events/deliverables I was responsible for at different points of completion. So here’s to getting back to it! Here is one of my favs from last Fall working with @newleadersinitiative, a program of Earth Island Institute. This is Katherine Martinez, one of 6 of the Brower Youth Awards 2023 winners recognized as outstanding youth leaders making strides in the environmental justice movement. I made 6 short films showcasing these young environmental justice activists, and I really like how this one came together. It was a delight and pleasure to collaborate with Katherine and feature the amazing work she is involved with at @colmenacimarrona, fighting for food sovereignty at a women led farming collective in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
