I learned the old world craftsmanship that is needed to work on older houses using hand tools, as well as power tools. I have experience in timber frames, windows, doors, cabinets, mouldings, small furniture, wood turning and overall construction. I gained experience working at Mount Auburn Cemetery as a Preservationist. I learned about mortars, grouts, epoxies, cleaning techniques, and lead work.

I have earned certificates: OSHA10, Lead-Safe Renovator Supervisor & Cintec Structural Reinforcement Anchors. When I'm not doing preservation or construction projects, I like to use the lathe to turn assorted items. I look forward to taking on new projects of various sizes and challenges.

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups white granulated sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water

CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

4 oz butter, (120 g | 1/2 cup)
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS :

CHOCOLATE CAKE

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) standard or 320°F (160°C) fan/convection.
Lightly grease 2x 9-inch (22cm) round cake pans with butter. Line base with parchment paper.

Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Whisk in sugar, then add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Whisk well to combine until lump free, about 30 seconds.

Pour boiling water into batter, mixing well. Cake batter is thin in consistency.

2 tablespoons raspberry jam 🍓
¼ cup sour cream 🍶
¼ cup heavy cream 🥛
Red food coloring (optional) 🌈
Berry Cake Layers:

1 box white cake mix 🎂
Eggs, oil, and water (as listed on the box) 🥚🌰💧
1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, do not thaw) 🫐
