After 6 months of hosting "The Drum", there's been so much praise and positive feedback from what we've done with the show, we've been given free rein and extend the show to 3 hours. Change up to the format include contemporary music, special g

uest and topics on a regular basis. The Drum was an honored part of our Lincoln Native Community that will always be in our hearts as we expand to "Intertribal Beats" Sunday nights from 7:30-9:30pm central. Playing the Traditional Native music you've grown to love. Classic Native hits for the Elders and old souls. Also the latest Native artists as well as the important Native topics. We're growing as our Native Community becomes stronger!

Sending prayers for Clyde Bellecourt and his family tonight on the show. Clyde began his journey this week. We are grateful to him and the other AIM founders and members for their work in demanding more rights for Native People.

Remembering Native American Civil Rights Activist Clyde Bellecourt - A strong Indigenous leader in the civil rights movement has passed on to join the ancestors.

Clyde (White Earth Nation), died from cancer at his Minneapolis home Tuesday, according to his wife Peggy Bellecourt. His Ojibwe name Nee-gon-we-way-we-dun means “Thunder Before the Storm.”

Clyde, was the co-founder of the and a longtime leader in the fight for Native civil rights.

was founded in Minneapolis to fight against police brutality and discrimination against Native people.

In 2020, George Floyd was murdered by police blocks away from Bellecourt’s home. He later attended a memorial service for Floyd.

Bellecourt opposed the use of Native mascots and imagery in sports. In 1991, he protested against the Atlanta Braves at the World Series. Native peoples continue to speak out against the use of Native imagery in sports today.

AIM led a series of national protests including the 1972 Trail of Broken Treaties and the 1973 Wounded Knee Occupation in South Dakota.

Bellecourt’s activism has improved the lives of Native peoples and paved the way for Native activists and leaders today.
