If you're a Google workspace or Gmail user, you are missing out if you are not using the Tasks feature!

It's super simple, just enable to side panel and click on Tasks and then drag your emails into the panel.

You can change the title, add subtasks, due dates. The task includes the relevant email so it's really easy to be able to jump straight into it, especially helpful if your inbox is a bit crazy!

And just like that, the first week of work is done for the year!

At least three clients have said to us this week that 2023 seemed to pass in a blink of an eye.....and we couldn't agree more! 2023 was hectic, there is no other way to describe it! Lemon and Lime Digital had a great year, but wow, it was massive. So we did a bit of thinking and here is where are at!

In 2024, our focus will be on;
- 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (website, EDM's, social media) - our aim is to help you reach your existing clients and new audiences through your digital platforms.
- 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (particularly with NFP's, Associations and small - medium businesses) in the marketing, membership, sponsorship- partnerships and business management spaces.
and 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (particularly for Associations and small-medium businesses).

We are looking forward to another exciting year ahead!

Over the past month, Alex has been working on events for a few clients and has contacted almost 50 venues (across the country) and more than 35 have not responded!

After she didn't hear from seven in a row, she followed up by phone and/or direct email and out of curiosity mostly, started to keep a record, four said straight away they had never received my enquiry from the website. Two actually said they never receive any website enquiries........clearly that is a problem then!

After her curiosity and frustration got the better of her, she called some of the others and these are the responses she got;
- we don't respond to enquiries about functions if they come through the general contact us page - there is a form on the functions page for these, we expect people to use that (there is no form... I checked)
- I didn't think there would be enough profit so didn't bother! WOW! Seriously.....
- These enquiry forms always go to the junk folder and I forget to check (inboxes have these things called rules.....)
- Noone knows where the emails go from the contact form and we don't know how to change this, so we hope people just call us.
- We have a shared inbox and it's hard to know what has been responded to, so some get misssed (Fair enough - but I am sure you can come up with a system to avoid this!)

Needless to say, a lot of these venues have gone on to our do-not-bother-with list!

It was pleasing to hear from a couple of venues (particularly smaller ones in regional areas) that they are so busy that they are just backlogged in responding!

Our tip for today - if you have a contact form on your website, use it correctly, or get rid of it!
(If you want to check- look for the settings/notifications within your form plugin eg. Gravity Forms, WP Forms)

So you went and bought some solar leads from us or from another lead generator out there?

Maybe you have been running Facebook or Google Ads like a demon, getting leads pouring in.

Or not.

Either way, you have enquiries coming into your business and you need to work to get them converting into sales.

But do you have a sales process?

Contrary to what you may see out there, sales isn't some dirty word promoted by characters like the Wolf of Wall Street.

It's actually the most important part of your business.

It's the relationship your business builds with its customers.

Love it or hate it, you gotta get out there and sling it.

Sales people need some personality and resilience, but more importantly, they need a process to follow.

Volume lead generation definitely requires a process.

Appointment setters, a robust CRM that can reconfirm appointments automatically, follow up processes that are followed to the line.......

We could go on and on.

"The leads are s**t" is an excuse used by lazy sales people without a process.

This usually means the sales person called the lead once, hit a voicemail and complained about the customer never called them back.

Worse is a Sales Manager who says "We close roughly 40-50% of our leads".

When we hear this we know immediately that the Sales Manager doesn't know their numbers.

And they certainly don't know their team's numbers.

The word "roughly" indicates a guess.

We know that the real number is probably half that.

Don't take offence to the above, we are just tryin' to keep it real with you.

After all, sales is a contact sport.

Meaning, the more contact you make, the better you do.

So before we sell you solar leads, or run lead generation services for your business we want to make sure you have a process in place.

Because if you don't, you are literally pi***ng your money away.

Here's a question for the electricians out there.

Do you know what our favourite method of driving leads to your door is?

Google Ads!

But why?

Well, for a start, it's high intent search.

Meaning, it's usually the first place people go to look specifically for your services.

They don't go to Facebook or Tik Tok or YouTube when they are lookin' for an electrician, do they?

Well, they might. 🤔

But generally speaking, when someone needs a kitchen wiring, or an LED lighting upgrade, or a solar system installing, the first thing they do is "Google it".

So you need to be front and centre to capture those interested customers.

But contrary to popular belief, you don't need to spend an absolute fortune on ads for little return.

You just need someone who knows what they are doing.

We all have a story about Google Ads and how they failed, don't we?

"Yeah my mate Bretto ran some Google Ads for our company and we got jack sh*t out of it".

Get someone who knows what they are doing.

Like us.

We kicked on a new campaign for a small sparkie firm last week.

They did the DIY thing with Ads before.

Yep, wasted a tonne of cash on it.

They'd been told by their sisters boyfriend Damo that you just write an ad, pump up the budget and watch the work fly in.

Anyway, we took a good look at their Google Ads account, set up a proper campaign, eased the ads back on (think of spending $30 a day to begin testing with).........

Within 6 days, we had spent just over $200 on Ads and had 9 leads out of it.

You wanna know the secret to building your business?

By answering your damn phone!

The amount of business owners we speak to who screen (otherwise known as ignore) incoming phone calls is astonishing.

Your phone isn't just a tool for uploading pics to the 'Gram, or getting that sneaky punt on the ponies through your Sportsbet app.

It's there for one reason and one reason only.

Communication.

Sales is a contact sport.

The more contact you make, the better you do.

So here's the thing.

We have been busy working with solar businesses all over Australia.

Generating lead after lead after lead for them like clockwork.

After all, we specialise in the high volume lead generation game.

So if a business needs 50, 100 or even 500 leads in a week, we can deliver.

But there is a trade-off.

When you work with high volume leads, the quality drops back.

It has to.

It is extremely difficult (translation = near impossible) to deliver consistent leads in volume in the high quality lead arena.

Today marked a pretty special occasion for us here at LLD HQ.

One year ago today we changed our name from Lemon and Lime Business Solutions to Lemon and Lime Digital!

2021 saw us continue our full-stack digital marketing efforts for so many amazing clients both here and overseas, including Facebook Ads, Google Ads, organic social media and strategic planning......... but lead generation is where we have firmly planted our flag.

We have gone on to crush lead generation within the solar, mortgage and credit repair industries with customers all over Australia and we are constantly innovating behind the scenes to provide a better experience and outcome for all of our valued customers.
