Her organization,, developed as a result of her own breast cancer diagnosis. Today, “the Pack” provides direct, no-cost support services which range from self-care sessions and grocery runs to housekeeping services, wig distribution, transportation to treatment, childcare, and more.

Today’s Local to Know is the founder of , a grassroots, quarterly community gathering that seeks to build stronger communities by creating safe spaces for in-person social engagement, making all spaces learning spaces, increasing access to the arts for underserved populations, and providing opportunities for artists to share and display their work.

The gathering of CUZZINs, as attendees are called, celebrates Miami’s rich cultural diversity, food sharing, art-based learning activations, and of course, poetry.
