In 2010, Percy Ihara, a seasoned mortgage professional dedicated to working with seniors and their families, took over the reigns of Generations Magazine to become publisher and managing editor. The first issue of Generations made its debut at Honolulu’s annual Seniors’ Fair in September 2010, featuring KHON2 news anchor Kirk Matthews. The magazine’s new tagline and mission was clear: “Hawaii’s Re
source for Life.” Generations Magazine provides seniors and their families important resource information on various issues facing our mature community, including topics such as healthcare, finances, legal matters, fitness, nutrition and caregiving. Today, 35 thousand copies of Generations Magazine are provided bimonthly free of charge, and distributed in over 250 locations throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Our advertisers underwrite the cost of publication, and represent solid services and products meeting important needs for our seniors and their families. As we grow, we will continue to provide resourceful and valuable information via our magazine here at www.generations808.com, our Aging in Place Workshops, and Generations Radio Show, aired Saturdays from 5-6pm and Sundays from 3-4pm on AM KHNR 690, The Answer, and iHeart Radio online. We want to hear from you, our readers, listeners and supporters. Continue to send your comments, pictures and events to us so we can share them with other seniors and their families.
