A Lesson in Radical Responsibility and Reclaiming Your Power
Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Bridgerton Season 3 has taken the world by storm. The Regency-era drama, with its swoon-worthy dukes, scandalous gossip, and forbidden love affairs (not to mention delicious inclusivity and representation), has captured the hearts of millions. But this season is about more than love, sex, and drama. At its core, it's about taking radical responsibility for one’s self, which leads to reclaiming your power and leading a life you’re madly in love with regardless of what others think, say or do.
A story only becomes the truth when you believe it to be the truth. This can be positive or negative. If you tell yourself that you're unworthy, that you don't matter, that becomes your reality. But what if you were to shift that narrative? What if you were to take ownership of your choices, behaviors, and actions? That's when true transformation occurs.
For me, Bridgerton Season 3 is the ultimate tale of reclamation, embodied in the character of Penelope Featherington. For the first two seasons, Penelope believed that she wasn't worthy, that she didn't matter. She started Lady Whistledown as a way to express her frustration and gain a little power. But by the end of Season 3, she doesn't really give a f**k what anybody else thinks because she knows she is in control of herself and her actions and her choices. Although she loved Colin and doesn’t want to hurt him, she's choosing things that bring her joy and is willing to fight for them.
Helping usher people into this realization is the deepest passion of my life. Much like Penelope, as soon as you take radical responsibility for your choices, behaviors, and actions, you then gain the upper hand. You shift from being a victim of circumstance to the architect of your destiny. You go from unsure to unstoppable.
Join me for this week’s episode of ‘Live with Heather Vickery’ to talk about taking radical responsibility in order to reclaim your power.
Make Your "Flaws" Work for You
We've all been there - labeling ourselves with terms that carry a negative charge. "Procrastinator." "Perfectionist." "Overthinker." And then, unsurprisingly, we feel guilty about these traits. But what if we could flip the script? What if, instead of fighting our natural tendencies, we learned to leverage them for success?
I know a thing or two about this. I'm a self-proclaimed "master procrastinator." I can put things off... and off... and off. Yet, I always follow through. I meet my deadlines, and I do quality work. But for years, I carried the burden of that "procrastinator" label, complete with the accompanying guilt and self-doubt.
A wise mentor of mine challenged my mindset. "Does it feel good to call yourself a procrastinator?" he asked. Of course not. Society has conditioned us to see procrastination as flawed, as something to be overcome. But what if we could reframe it? What if, instead of fighting our tendency to delay, we embraced it and worked with it?
My mentor's suggestion was simple yet powerful: "What if you allowed yourself to believe you do your best work at the last minute, and then scheduled accordingly?" Mind. Blown.
The key is to understand that these traits aren't inherently good or bad - they simply are. By acknowledging them and finding ways to work with them, you can turn what feels like a liability into an asset. You can stop the cycle of guilt and self-doubt, and start leveraging your unique strengths.
Ditch the guilt. Forget the productivity shame. It's time to embrace a new way of achieving your goals - one that works with your natural tendencies, not against them.
Join me for this week’s episode of ‘Live with Heather Vickery’ as we explore "The Power of Self-Acceptance" You'll discover:
- How common labels like "procrastinator" and "perfectionist" might be holding you back
- The surprising benefits of reframing these traits to your advantage
- Actionable strategies for leveraging your unique strengths to reach your goals
Your Safety Lies in Your Self-Understanding
Maybe you're afraid of being judged, of being misunderstood. Maybe you're worried about losing relationships, or not fitting in anymore. These are real fears, and they can hold you back from fully embracing your true self.
But here's the thing: it's safe to be yourself, even when others don't understand. In fact, it's the only way to truly live. Because the alternative - trying to fit into boxes, trying to be what others want you to be - that leads to emptiness, to a life that feels unfulfilling.
When you have the courage to be yourself, that's when the real magic happens. That's when you can finally, fully breathe. That's when you can step into your power, your joy, your sense of purpose.
Because at the end of the day, it's safe to be you. It's safe to be misunderstood by others, as long as you're taking the time to understand yourself. It's safe to take up space, to use your voice, to live a life that feels deeply, fully true to your soul.
We’re unpacking this on Thursday during this week’s ‘Live with Heather Vickery’.
When Science Meets Woo
As some one who has been interested in the Spiritual “woo” side of things for a long time I am loving how the "woo" meets the science more and more each day. What was once dismissed as "out there" or purely spiritual is now being backed up by hard data and research. Concepts like gratitude, the energy we put out into the world, NLP, subconscious reprogramming, EFT tapping, and hypnotherapy... these are no longer just "fluffy" spiritual practices. The science is rolling in and it's undeniable.
Take gratitude, for example. It's not just about feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Studies have shown that a regular gratitude practice can literally rewire our brains for positivity. It increases feel-good neurotransmitters like dopamine, boosts our mood, and even improves our physical health. By focusing on what we already have, we open ourselves up to receive even more good stuff.
And then there's the whole "like attracts like" idea. It's not just some airy fairy concept... it's real. The energy we emit is a magnet, drawing similar energy back to us. When we put out positivity and abundance, that's what we get back. It's a universal law, and it's backed up by quantum physics.
Through my NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) training we learned all about hacking our brains to break free from limiting patterns. By reframing our thoughts and consciously choosing our words, we can reprogram our subconscious minds for success. It's like updating the software of your mind, and the studies are proving its power. NLP has been used for decades to help people overcome phobias, boost confidence, and even increase sales performance.
EFT tapping and hypnotherapy are also getting their day in the scientific sun. These modalities have been around for a while, but now we're seeing the hard data on how they impact our brains and bodies. By tapping into our body's energy meridians or accessing our subconscious minds through hypnosis, we can release blocks and fears that have held us back for
Live Your Success
Here's the truth: the energy you put out is the energy you get back. By embodying your success before it's physically present, you shift your mindset from one of longing to one of living. This shift is a game-changer. It transforms how you approach challenges, turning them into stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks. It changes how you view opportunities, allowing you to seize them with confidence and grace.
So, what's the difference this will make in your life? Everything. You'll move through your days with a sense of purpose and confidence that's absolutely magnetic. You'll find gratitude more readily, and joy will become your default setting. And all the while, you'll be drawing your dreams closer to you.
Join me for this weeks episode of ‘Live With Heather Vickery’ at our brand new timeslot to unpack this a little more, hear some of my first hand experiences with this and learn some tips and tricks for fully embracing the “As If” approach to creating a life you’re madly in love with.

Hold the F**k Up and Look How Far You’ve Come
When was the last time you paused to reflect on your journey? When did you last give yourself a pat on the back for the mountains you've climbed and the obstacles you've overcome? We are so quick to downplay our victories, to chalk them up to luck or to diminish them as mere steps towards a larger goal. But it's time to change that narrative.
Every milestone, no matter how small, is a testament to your resilience, your tenacity, and your strength. It's a piece of the puzzle that is your incredible story. And you, my friend, are the architect of that story. You've poured your heart and soul into building something meaningful, something that matters—to you and to the world.
So let's pause. Let's soak in the magnitude of our accomplishments. Did you start a business? That's amazing! Have you made progress on a personal project? That's incredible! Did you simply make it through a tough day? That's equally worth celebrating! Every step forward is a victory, and it's essential we recognize that.
It's easy to get caught up in the comparison game, to look at others and feel as if we're lagging behind. But your journey is uniquely yours. It's not a competition. It's a path that you've carved out for yourself, with its own set of challenges and triumphs. And you've navigated it beautifully.
Join me on Thursday for ‘Live with Heather Vickery’ to hear about the power of celebration and self-recognition. This is more than just a “nice idea” there’s some pretty cool science behind why this is important.

I Put Myself on Blast
Accountability is no joke. It's a powerful tool that, when wielded with care, can ignite action and keep the fires of motivation burning. It's like having a personal coach in your corner, someone who sees the potential in you and refuses to let you sell yourself short.
Let’s dig in on why accountability works even when it’s an uncomfortable path to growth.
Embracing the Fear
As a transformational success coach, I have journeyed with countless individuals on the path to self-improvement and empowerment. Yet, there is one topic that often goes unspoken, shadowed by its complexity and vulnerability – the daunting task of truly loving oneself.
For many, the concept of self-love conjures images of indulgence, ease, and acceptance. But the reality? It's frightening. To stare into the mirror and not just accept, but cherish the person looking back at you, perceived flaws and all, requires an audacious kind of bravery.
Why is self-love so terrifying? Because it means confronting every shard of self-doubt, every internalized criticism, and every piece of shame that we have carried, perhaps for our entire lives. It means stripping away the layers of expectation and judgment, both from others and, most critically, from ourselves.
Imagine standing on the edge of a precipice, the abyss of your own psyche stretching before you. Diving into the depths of self-love is like leaping into that unknown, trusting that you will not only survive the fall but emerge from the waters reborn. It is a process of dismantling the beliefs that you are not enough, that you do not deserve happiness, and that your worth is contingent on external validation.
The journey is harrowing because it is a process of transformation. It requires us to let go of who we thought we were supposed to be and to embrace who we truly are. This metamorphosis is not without its pains. It demands vulnerability, a quality that society often teaches us to regard as a weakness when, in fact, it’s the wellspring of strength.
In the embrace of self-love, we must be willing to forgive ourselves for our mistakes. We must learn to celebrate our successes, no matter how small. We must recognize the inherent value that we hold, independent of our productivity, our relationships, or our accomplishments.
But let me be clear: loving yourself does not mean you are always happy with yourself. It
Alignment Doesn’t Mean Perfection
Through years of self-work I’ve come to learn that alignment (which is a word I use often) is less about achieving a state of perfection and more about embracing a journey of awareness and continuous recalibration.
Alignment is often misconstrued as a destination—a perfect place where everything falls neatly into place, and life flows without challenges. But come on now, we all know that’s an impossible destination. True alignment is not the absence of obstacles; it's the presence of clarity and the courage to face whatever comes your way.
There was a time in my life when I appeared to have it all—a successful business, a beautiful family, and a dream house. But despite these outward signs of success, I felt small, unfulfilled, and exhausted from bending over backward to meet everyone else's expectations. I realized that following society's rules and ignoring my own desires was suffocating me.
So, I chose to break free, to become my own Phoenix and rise from the ashes of a life that no longer served me. I came out, ended my marriage, and built a new business grounded in the principles of the trifecta of self: Learning to deepy and completely know, like and trust myself - and then to be freaking honest with myself in the process. It's a journey that embraces the essence of alignment—being true to oneself, even when it's hard.
Here's the thing: building a life you love is tough. It shouldn’t be, but it is. It's an ongoing process of unraveling from the old and stepping boldly into the new, a process that requires constant adjustment and recalibration. It's about being aware of when we are out of sync with our core values and having the tools and bravery to realign our actions with our intentions.
Alignment means knowing that it's okay to stumble and that there's immense strength in vulnerability. It's about recognizing when you're playing small or contorting yourself to fit into someone else's mold and choosing, instead, to expand into your own shap
The Pursuit of Simple Joys
Life, with its myriad responsibilities and challenges, can sometimes feel like a joy-thief. In a world that often seems to spin on an axis of productivity, efficiency, and relentless ambition, there’s a quiet rebellion taking place. It’s not marked by loud protests or revolutionary rhetoric; instead, it’s a gentle shift in perspective—a rediscovery of the art of doing something simply because it feels good and brings joy.
The French call this Joie de vivre (the joy of living)
For many of us, we’re taught to be serious, to think of the future, to plan, to prepare, to always consider the practical implications of every action. And while foresight and responsibility are valuable traits, they can sometimes overshadow a fundamental human need: the pursuit of happiness.
Remember when you were a kid, and the smallest things could bring the widest smiles? The excitement of a scoop of ice cream on a hot day, the thrill of jumping into a pile of autumn leaves, or the contentment of lying on the grass watching clouds float by. As adults, we often lose sight of these simple pleasures, dismissing them as trivial or unimportant. But what if we allowed ourselves to reconnect with them?
Doing something just because it feels good is an act of self-kindness that can have a profound impact on our overall well-being. Whether it’s taking a leisurely walk in the park without checking your phone, picking up a paintbrush or an instrument after many years, dancing around your living room to your favorite tunes, or even just taking a moment to breathe deeply and appreciate the present moment—these acts of joy are vital.
Society often implies—sometimes subtly, sometimes not—that if an activity isn’t productive or doesn’t serve a greater goal, it’s a waste of time. This underlying message can create an internal resistance to joy. We start to feel guilty for wanting to spend time doing things that don’t have a measurable output, and that guilt can rob us of the h
The Revolution of Self
What happens if we treat ourselves with the same respect we treat leaders and organizations? When we apply the “know, like, and trust” concept to ourselves?
This idea aligns seamlessly with my mission to help you transform fear into fierceness. Just as companies must understand their 'why' to inspire action, we must all delve into our core to truly master the art of knowing, liking, and trusting ourselves because the process of self-discovery begins at the intersection of discomfort and expansion.
I help you explore these layers of self-knowledge and self-trust which leads to self-acceptance and actually liking yourself. How about trying that on for size? Picture it … You think of yourself and it feels good, powerful, empowering, and joyful rather than filled with disappointment and shame.
I understand that fear is a part of the process, but it doesn't have to be an obstacle. Fear is simply feedback if you’re taking the time to pay attention and understand yourself. In this case, it's a catalyst for growth, a signal that you're stepping into your power.
It’s in this space that I invite you to be part of the Revolution of Self
The "know, like, and trust" factor is a cornerstone of strong leadership and successful organizations. It's a simple yet profound principle that dictates that people are more likely to follow and engage with those they know, like, and trust. But this concept doesn't have to be external. When we apply it to ourselves, we unlock a transformative self-leadership journey.
What happens then, when we treat ourselves with the respect we reserve for the greatest leaders? We become leaders of our own lives. We build self-esteem and confidence that radiate outward, influencing all aspects of our lives from personal relationships to professional endeavors.
The revolution of self starts with the willingness to see ourselves as worthy of the same admiration we give to others. By knowing, liking, and trusting ourselves, we don't just beco
The Audacity to Dream
Do you have any idea what’s hard AF? Writing a Mother Effing best selling book, that’s what!
Guess what? I freaking did it (ok it was two years ago but that’s besides the point)! 🎉
There are moments when I lean back and marvel at the fact that I've published not one, but five incredible journals (gratitude journal and manifestation journals), penned a whole ass best selling book (F*CK FEARLESS: Making The Brave Leap), and co-created a set of stunning, impactful manifestation cards (The Create Brave Cards).
But here’s the truth about turning dreams into reality: You pinpoint your goals, start taking intentional, inspired action toward achieving them, and before you know it – BAM – you’ve accomplished those goals. You’re dreams are coming true and you may not even be aware of it. It’s mind-blowing how easy it is to lose sight of the progress you've made, especially when you’re knee-deep in life – running a business, raising your kids, or seeking that sweet spot of harmony and balance.
So here's a reminder to hit the pause button every now and then, take a look back at your journey, and celebrate the hell out of your achievements. 🥳
Yeah, I did that. And let me tell you, it was effing awesome.
And you know what? There’s more where that came from. Stick with me because I’m brimming with more books to share. But it’s not just about the books – I’m in the business of manifesting big, bold, terrifying but wonderful dreams. Dreams that don't just transform my life but also touch the lives of everyone I meet. I was born to play big, and I’m just getting started.
But here's a little secret: You've got that same fire inside you. And guess what? I'm throwing open the curtains on my own wild ride to show you behind the scenes. 🚀
This is more than a 'me' story; it's an 'us' story. It's about embracing the big, scary dreams that keep you up at night and stepping into the life you’re meant to live. I'm proof that dreams aren't ju
Embracing the Wait: The Power of Patience in Pursuit of Success
Impatience is a natural response in our fast-paced world, where instant gratification is often just a click away. It can be infuriating to pour your heart and soul into your endeavors only to feel like you're stuck in the mud. But here's a radical idea: what if we slowed down and actually sat with this discomfort?
Taking a moment to reflect gives us a chance to see the bigger picture. What's truly unfolding around you, and more importantly, what part do you play in it all? This is where radical responsibility comes into play. It's about owning our actions, our decisions, and the energy we bring into any situation.
Surrendering to the things we cannot control or change isn't easy, but it's often necessary. Ask yourself, what happens when you let go? There's a certain freedom in relinquishing the need to steer every aspect of the journey. Sometimes the universe has a lesson in store for us, and patience is the key to unlocking it.
Why Mindset Work May Be Keeping You in Hustle Mode
Are you stuck in a hustle mode, chasing after success, health, or happiness with all your might, yet never quite reaching your destination? The culprit might be the pervasive idea that you can simply think your way to a better life.
Let's debunk this myth together. Real change, the kind that transforms your life from the inside out, goes beyond just changing your mind. It involves rewiring your subconscious patterns, aligning your conscious desires with your deepest drivers, and embracing the Trifecta of Self: knowing, liking, and trusting yourself.
That Time I Failed at Yoga
It's okay to be different. It's okay for your needs and behaviors not to match the group's. Society might label you as broken when you deviate from the norm, but what’s really happening is healing. You’re creating wholeness that can change not only your life but the entire world.
Stepping out of the ego and trusting yourself creates wholeness.
Join me on Thursday for this week's ‘Weekly Live Show with Heather Vickery’ and let’s explore all the ways you can honor and heal yourself when you step out of the ego and people-pleasing loops and start to master the Trifecta of Self: deeply and truly knowing, liking and trusting yourself.
Asking Clarifying Questions
When it comes to taking radical responsibility for yourself there’s one thing that can make an instant and transformative difference … Asking clarifying questions!
Let me assure you I learned this the hard way. When I was younger I played innocent “I didn’t know,” “you never told me!” Always placing blame on everyone else and never taking responsibility for my part of the conversation. If you want something to happen, ask clarifying questions. If you want information, ask clarifying questions.
Have you ever felt a conversation just click into place when you've asked the right thing? Or experienced that 'aha' moment when you see yourself and your choices in a whole new light? That's the power we're tapping into, especially when it's aligned with the principles of Human Design. It's about so much more than just getting answers. It's about connecting with the core of who you are, understanding your innate nature, and interacting with the world in a way that truly honors that.
On this week's episode of ‘Live with Heather Vickery’ we’re exploring the power of asking clarifying questions and how embracing them can help you know, like and trust yourself - take radical responsibility for yourself and have significantly more control over your own life.
We'll talk about how asking the right questions can peel away layers, revealing truths about ourselves and others. We'll explore how this practice can enrich our lives, foster trust, and empower our decision-making in a way that feels deeply aligned with who we are.
I'm inviting you to be part of this conversation because I believe in the transformative power of understanding – not just of the world around us, but of the universe within us. Together, we'll learn, grow, and navigate the complexities of life with authenticity and grace. So come, ask your questions, share your experiences, and let's embark on this journey to enhancing our Trifecta of Self – knowing, liking, and trusting ourselves –
