Join host Bob Santelli, University Director of Popular Music and OSU student Colson Legras for an in-depth look at the pop and rock albums that have made, and continue to make history.
The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd's eighth studio album, was released on March 1, 1973. Developed primarily during live performances, it was originally conceived as a concept album and a way for the band to deal with the pressures and lifestyle of being a successful rock band; and to address the mental health issues of their former bandmate Syd Barrett, who had departed from the group earlier. The story and the album are unique, complex, and sometimes heavy. Yet the album is among the most critically acclaimed records in history and is frequently listed among the greatest albums of all time. Find out more about this complex project at the next installment of the OSU album club.
It's like a book club, only we listen to and discuss some of the greatest albums of all time. Free, open to campus and community.
