Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman asked President Trump not to “punish individuals for the policies of their state” as he sat down with lawmakers and local leaders for a roundtable discussion after his visit to the Palisades Fire zone in Los Angeles on Friday.

Sherman’s exchange with Trump comes after recent comments from the President suggesting that certain federal wildfire aid should be withheld from California unless the state implemented new water policies and Voter ID laws.

President Donald Trump arrived in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon to tour the devastation left behind by the Palisades Fire in the Pacific Palisades.

Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, was recorded impersonating the baseball star on a call with a bank as he attempted to transfer $200,000 for what he describes as a car loan, federal prosecutors allege.

A nearly four-minute audio recording referenced in a court filing and obtained by The Associated Press is being used to back up prosecutors' push for a nearly five-year sentence for Mizuhara, who previously pleaded guilty to stealing almost $17 million from the Los Angeles Dodgers star.

The call was obtained from the bank, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeff Mitchel, but it's unclear when the recording was made: https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/ippei-mizuhara-recorded-impersonating-shohei-ohtani-federal-prosecutors/
