Matt Masters examines the Indiana-banned "Louie, Louie" today at noon. Billboard upper management recently admitted that The Singing Nun was actually NOT number 1 for all those weeks, The Kingsmen's "Louie, Louie" was, but with the controversy over its lyrics, they felt it would be sacrilegious to allow it the number one spot in the Hot 100.

Enjoy this Labor Day special.

Stream is back. The best reason never to use Windows is what we are experiencing. It is impossible to stop the Windows updates, which always reboot your computer and cannot be stopped, unless you can afford the pricey Windows server--which is the only option that allows control of updates. Need 24/7 uninterrupted service like we do?--you will not get that with regular Windows.

Thanks to Don for interrupting his holiday weekend to run out and get the stream back up and running again.

Enjoy the extended weekend--and stick with WITT while we entertain you with the music you come here for, through the holiday.

Yes, the stream is down. There is ONE Windows computer in the audio chain to the stream, and it apparently has rebooted itself, killing the stream. We will find a way around this eventually, but please bear with us while Don runs out to the distribution place and starts the audio app to get the stream back up and running.

Sue Hobbs says-I've once again been glued to my office chair all day (yes I said I was taking Friday through Monday off . . . I lied). BUT I'm getting out of my chair, away from my desk, and heading over to the WITT studios shortly for our live All-Request Radio Show from 9 til 11. Join us tonight at 91.9 fm or stream us from www.919witt.org, call or email your requests to us, and we'll do our damnedest to play your favorite tune. We're also featuring Reverend Peyton and His Big Damn Band tonight as the Hoosier Artist of the Week plus a great 1 Hit Wonder. Lots of silly chatter, a few surprises, excellent music, and a good til guaranteed for all. Be there. Aloha.

Before The Archies, before Ozzie and Harriet’s Ricky Nelson on TV, there was the Aldrich family on radio. It was a show designed to appeal to teenagers, and there was even a comic book series featuring characters from the Aldrich family.

Tonight we repeat a show from last November that starts with the Aldrich family and it’s famous “Henr-e-e-e-e” scream by Henry’s mother that started each show. Tonight’s episode is about a date mix up that went all wrong.

Ezra Stone played Henry,--the most prominent character,--but was billed as the 20th person in the credit list, and also functioned as a production assistant--the starter job for most young radio and TV workers. Henry Aldrich was also the title of the comic book that preceded the Archie Andrews comic books by 2 years (you decide who copied whom), the latter which eventually morphed into The Archies TV cartoon series.

Check in for an episode of the Aldrich family tonight at 8:00pm.

Following the Aldrich Family is the very first episode of the drama series Box 13. Created as a vehicle for Alan Ladd, it was syndicated--which means it was not a network produced program.

Ladd plays Dan Holiday, a newspaperman who turned adventure-seeker by running an ad in his former newspaper requesting assignments that could go anywhere and do anything. Prospective clients were to write a letter to Box 13 at the newspaper.

“The First Letter” was from a woman who wanted Holiday to stop someone who had been blackmailing her for 5 years.

Find out how Holiday proceeds with his first job tonight at 8:30pm on the Radio Museum. Tune in to FM 91.9 or click into our stream at 919WITT.org.

The Radio Museum has had a long history on WITT, having started shortly after sign-on in 2009. However, it has never enjoyed the success of listenership--with hardly anyone choosing to remain with the program but rather, turning away to other options. Tonight, then, concludes the long run of the Museum programs. We thank those who have enjoyed it, but will move on to programming that has actual audience appeal for our core listeners. Please then, enjoy this last broadcast of the Radio Museum.

We need testers for the Android version of the WITT app. Send an email to [email protected] with the email your Android phone operates under. If you don’t know what that email is, go to the Google Play Store and click the profile circle button at the upper right. What we need is the first line of that response. A lot of people use a different email than that, but it will not work unless you use the email your phone is logged-in under.

Send that information in the email to us, and we will add you as an Android tester. Our response will go to that email address, so you must be able to receive email there.

We need 20 testers to get the app approved, and we only have 8 so far. Please help us out. Our contact email is also on the website at 919WITT.org, so you can just click on that to send the information if that makes it easier.

If you already registered as a tester, you cannot help. We need 20 new people who have never signed up before.

Please--help us out.

55 years ago in August 1969 music history was made at Woodstock. The music festival drew over 400,000 people for a 3 day lineup that hasn't been duplicated. Tonight, the Radio Museum offers a repeat of two of the best shows from the past. First is William Conrad as Marshall Matt Dillon of Dodge City, Kansas, set in the 1870’s. Will Thompson's son--shot multiple times--drags himself to the Marshal's office and tells Dillon his family has been murdered and their farmhouse burned to the ground. Dillon and his deputy, Chester, ride out to investigate an incident that looks like the works of Indians on the rampage. Find out how Dillon gets to the bottom of the event by joining us at 8:00pm for the Radio Museum.

Then a reprise of the brilliant story of a ventriloquist dummy who comes to control the ventriloquist with Art Carney in the roll of the dummy, showcasing the amazing talent Carney possessed. This is a performance not to be missed.

The entertainment begins at 8:00pm on WITT at FM 91.9 or streaming worldwide at 919WITT.org.

Still time to catch some of the WITT Request show followed by Indiana Nocturne at 11PM.

Stream is back online.

16/08/2024

Yes, we do our own stream now. Yes, it has Microsoft Windows in the chain. Yes, they forced an upgrade last night. Yes, it rebooted the Windows computer. Yes, someone has to go out to the distribution point and manually start the stream up again. Yes, in the meantime, the stream is off.

Yes, we apologize for that.

Okay--work is done for today on the stream!!

13/08/2024

Again apologies for the several resets of the stream. It is unavoidable after configuration changes.

13/08/2024

More work on the stream today. Apologies for the interruptions. It is stressful work, requiring multiple changes to equipment and configurations in an attempt to resolve the audio dropouts.

13/08/2024

Russ Dodge and John Rabold are back with another Indiana Nocturne this week!

The Who, Pat Benatar, REO Speedwagon, Men Without Hats, Buddy Guy with James Taylor….also a very special salute to a young man our community lost in a tragic event that has created a special scholarship, and now local musician Roger Hoffman has composed a song as a vehicle that will help further that fundraiser. Info about WAMM fest, Russ’s College Classics and John’ 90s Nuggets and more.

11/08/2024

All finished for today. More file updates tomorrow, so it may dump everyone and require reconnecting again. We are trying everything to eliminate the short audio buffering drops which have plagued us for weeks now.

11/08/2024

More work on improving the stream this morning. There will be some interruptions as we swap out equipment. Please reconnect when that happens. The silence could be as long as 10 minutes.

Thanks!

Nick Espinosa highlights today's Deep Dive computer security show at noon with the following description--

Conspiracies have always been a part of human history. However, in modern times, and thanks to the mass information delivery system that is the internet, conspiracies are becoming a dangerous concept for America. We explore this and security breeches Saturdays at noon on WITT.
