Band pic circa 2010. Before all my tats and the big beard 😂. love these dudes! AJ Hauser is still in the band. Joshua Flaharty has rejoined us to throw down some killer drums! And my Brother Eric Poe still comes around to add solid bass to some of my records.
My current bassist Gage Munnich is solid too. Gage is one of the best team players I’ve ever had! In fact, he often tells me that if I ever want to bring back Eric, he would be more than willing to move over to keys and take on the Hammond Organ and Piano parts.
Ya never know lol 😂…..

I am stoked!! Excited to let y’all know that rejoining us after more than a decade away, on the drums, Mr. Joshua Flaharty !!!
I’ve always felt like we had some unfinished business 😊. Josh is solid! I can’t wait for the Prison concerts that we’ll do together! Definitely going to be some Heavy Holy Spirit Thunder echoing in those gymnasiums and auditoriums!

I’ve been quiet. Not because I can’t come up with something to say ( y’all know me lol 😂)
But largely because I’ve been sick. Without too much detail, since returning from a trip to Houston on July 14th I’ve had a rough stretch. Probably the dreaded Rona but whatever. Sick is sick. But I praise God for this because I feel he’s been trying to get my attention for a long time in order to stand down and fix a problem in my ministry. In order to begin that process I know he wanted me to seek Him first . In other words, chill out, hit the pause button and pray. Getting me this sick was pure genius on His part. It was the only way to make it happen.
So since my return that’s what I have done ( along with hacking my lungs up 😂).
Soon I’ll have more to say. More exact detail. For now though what I ask from all of you is to pray for my ministry. We have much work to do yet. Of this, I am sure.
I will be back later this coming week to bring everyone up to speed. God Bless each and everyone of you. I send you much ❤️

There must be something in the water in Houston Texas. Maybe it’s the tropical heat and humidity and the hearty folks that love being there even in the face of the hurricanes. Overall, Texas as a state seems to create and raise up some real authentic music folks. People that still believe in songwriting that says something. Storytelling instead of hit music fabrication. When you walk into guitar shops like Houstons very own Rockin' Robin Guitars & Music, you immediately catch the vibe that Toto, we ain’t at Guitar Center anymore!
If you play guitar, bass, drums and you ever find your path taking you to or through Houston, go there! Feel it for yourself.
Your weary music soul will thank you for the steroid shot of hope that real music is still alive. Once upon a time in my life this was the vibe I discovered as a young man that traveled to Nashville Tennessee in the early 80’s up through about 1990. Back before Lower Broadway was a tourist trap and the venerable George Gruhn still sold guitars out of his shop located in the grit of that city next to pawn shop’s, bars and the original motif of the Ryman Auditorium.
And I digress….
The real point of this post is that I have on both occasions of going to Houston discovered new to me inventors and music folks that are pouring themselves into the creation of the gear and tools I use to share the music and stories within in the best way possible. This trip I learned of a Houston musician that is hand crafting small amounts of guitar gain and fuzz pedals that sound pretty darn good. Last time I was there I picked up a one off pedal made by a local inventor named Mike Fratus. It has been part of my tone ever since. This trip I discovered the small boutique AEO Effects. So let’s see what mojo can be whipped up with this gem of guitar pedal bliss (see video) I love how it sounds in this demonstration video provided by AEO Effects. Should sound pretty good paired up with my Marshall JTM45 Plexi into the green back speakers ❤️

We had a great week in Houston visiting our Son Steven, our Daughter in-love Reina and our Grandson Micah❤️
It’s now 12:44 AM Sunday morning and we are being driven home from Chicago in the pouring rain after being picked up by our youngest kids (that are full grown too lol) Annalee and Jeremiah. They were nice enough to come rescue us at the airport after a ridiculous long day of plane problems, delays because of airport staffing shortages and bad weather yet again in Houston. There were also mechanical issues with the plane that they were literally working on after we boarded the plane. We sat on the plane in Houston for almost 4 hours without air conditioning before ever taking off. If you know Texas heat, then you know what I am saying🔥.
So the week started last Saturday with us landing right before the hurricane hit and it has ended in an everything but the kitchen sink scenario as well 😂
However, the in between time was special. We couldn’t really go anywhere because of the hurricane and the damage afterwards, but we got to hang out and love on our kids❤️ I played little tikes basketball with my Grandson and his belly laughs and excitement are forever etched in my heart ❤️.
Now it’s back home to the grind. The reality. And that’s ok. Sherry and I are blessed.
Ok, that’s it for now. I’m beat! Probably going to roll in after 2:00 am. Then sleep!!
I’ll have some fairly big ministry news coming over the next couple of weeks. So stay tuned for that! Things keep moving at The Speed of Life. That often brings change and change often brings growth ❤️❤️😉

Question to my recording engineer friends.
Any of you try the Warm Audio WA-19 microphone? This is being touted as the AKG D-19 clone. It’s often referred to as the Ringo Mic because of its use during the 60’s at Abbey Road on most of the Beatles drum tracks. Let me know your thoughts and experiences if you have tried it.

New to the mic collection. Warm Audio CX-12, their version of the famed C-12. And the Warm Audio WA-12 MKll microphone pre.
I’ve been testing these together through the console and several different compressors all day and I am really liking what I hear. Years ago I sang vocals through a vintage C-12 in Nashville on a 2 week long project at what was then Stargem Studio and now Curb Studio. Fell in love with it then and thought I’d give this a try since we already use a Warm Audio 47 and 67 that I like very much.

This 1976 MIJ Greco Les Paul I had shipped here from Tokyo 4 months ago has become my go to like an old friend.
I’ve got Gibson’s and this is more Paul than any of them. It is full of battle scars but it just sings. Amazing through my Marshall’s.
Killer Todd Anthony Joos and the Revelators rehearsal last night. We worked it hard. I was soaked with sweat and feeling strong 💪 🤟.

So the quest to record a live Prison Concert album has begun again…
We were close going into 2020, but then, Covid. So here we are in 2024 rolling down the road again. And with all that, the desire to share what the experience of a Todd Anthony Joos and the Revelators Prison Concert is all about has returned ❤️
It’s going to take awhile. Getting the technical side ironed out has begun by making live rehearsal recordings when we’re together every week. I’m happy to report it is sounding great! So the mobile recording setup should be almost good to go. The bigger deal will be getting the clearance to record the concerts.
Nothing is simple in the Prison world. However have I mentioned I am a knock and knock again on the door kind of guy?? 😁😜

Here’s the painful news:
Today I was in Rockford Illinois for oral surgery. I had a wisdom tooth removed using only a local anesthetic. The tooth broke during the procedure. So dig it out and drill out the roots…. I know, I know…. Enough already 😂.
And now for the good news:
My new album REV60 is available on CD for ordering. And it’s now starting to be added to all streaming platforms. The Vinyl LP’s are almost ready and will be available for purchase soon as well. Oh one more thing! We Todd Anthony Joos and the Revelators will be in concert at The Dixon Correctional Prison this coming Tuesday!! So I will heal up over the weekend and be ready to ROCK🤟💪🔥
