Thanks to Richard Brown for sending this article and introducing me to the Jackson, MS Jazz scene of the early 80's, and more importantly, to the late John Resse who single-handedly spearheaded the Black Arts Music Society in Jackson. It was through BAMS and his encouragement that most of the musicians earned a voice in Improvisational music.it was because of him, I met an experienced a lot of great musicians and their music opening for a lot of them on shows, with Bassist Richard Brown's Quartet. In some ways, it was a more progressive scene thanbNew Orleans at that time. John brought in many national acts that we interacted with. Thank you John Reese!

NOLA Music Studios is a private access music recording studio built from the bottom up with a focus on the artist. The "Artists Den" at NOLA offers an intimate setting designed with hands on music production in mind.
