Held at the Canyon Gate Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada, this special event was to celebrate Tammy’s soon-to-be-arriving second baby. Lia Pickering, along with her team at I Do Details Weddings & Events, had planned birthday parties for Tammy’s daughter prior to this baby shower, but this event was for her first baby boy, Asher.

With Asher being born in the winter, the idea was to play off the season and go with a winter wonderland theme. Tammy wanted to stay away from using brown bears, so instead, Lia pitched the idea of using a polar bear since they are white and represent the season better. With three months to plan, they took the polar bear idea and turned it into the masterpiece you see featured on these pages, complete with sweet details and thoughtful touches.

Elegant Alfresco Thanksgiving by Lori Hanrehan

Dining alfresco is instantly inviting. There’s something about the outdoors that makes any meal feel special. I brought the comforts of the indoors to my patio by pairing my dining room chairs with my outdoor table; this made lingering after dinner more enjoyable, and it looked pretty too!

The table was lined with soft-toned gourds, creating a lovely autumnal centerpiece. Tucked among them were miniature bushel baskets filled with farmers market finds, such as kale and seasonal fruit. Pheasant figurines added a touch of shine and elegance, and they came right off my fireplace mantle just for the evening. I perched some items on crystal cake stands to give the bountiful centerpiece contrast with height — an attractive way to showcase pretty decor atop a serving piece!

Here at Mingle, we love a party planned and styled by the duo behind House of Fete. Marissa Bushee and Kelsey Klos know how to throw a memorable event! It’s so much more than a party — it’s a whole mood, vibe, and celebration all tossed together to create a masterpiece. Their gatherings often feature vibrant colors, unique themes, thoughtful details, and fantastic photo opportunities, and this seasonal event, titled Holiday House, was no different.

A modern take on a farmhouse Christmas, they were inspired by the Pink Victorian Farmhouse located in Clovis, California; so much so they built the theme around it. The House of Fete team conceptualized and planned this event, as well as arranged the flowers seen throughout the party area. Held outside on a sunny day, their goal was to host a lux holiday dinner featuring a unique color palette — and boy, did they succeed!

Family Dinner at the Log Cabin by Julie Abrera

My husband and I rescued a little log cabin with a long history. Nestled in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, not far from our house, we found a small 1830s log cabin that needed a new home. The journey to move and rebuild this little gem took two years. Relocated to our back garden, we knew this space would be the perfect place to gather with friends and family and add a new chapter to its almost 200-year-old history.

A Blush Bridal Shower Bohemian by Tara Berger

This blush bohemian bridal shower will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the last event I hosted in early March 2020, and when I look back a year later, I have so much gratitude in my heart. I was able to spend this day with friends right before the world came to a halt. With soft blush tones, delicate feminine details, a lavish mimosa bar, and spring florals, this bridal shower was both classic and trendy; in my opinion, it would make a perfect bridal shower theme for many years to come.

For the Love of Mushrooms by Dannyelle Nicolle-Ramjist

This picnic was inspired by my love of mushrooms — it’s such a fun trend! When I was out shopping one day, I discovered a marble and wood cutting board in the shape of a mushroom and thought it’d be a festive serving piece for a mushroom-themed party. From there, I found some more mushroom pieces perfect for a backyard summer picnic, which took me about a month to plan.

Each and every year, I am overjoyed with the collaboration of our extra-talented “friend-ors” who look forward to bringing my daughter Liv’s birthday dreams to life as much as I do! As they say, your vibe attracts your tribe, and it truly is something special when the dream team shows up, ready to move and groove. Turning 7 is a vibe, and so is our sweet girl Olivia Grace, who enjoys parties and over-the-top details, just like her mama! A theme should be inspired by what the guest of honor loves the most, and this year, the idea of “7 is a Vibe” quickly took off.

A Colorful Celebration by House of Fete

While shopping for props for an event, we stumbled upon one of the coolest items we had ever seen. This particular vintage shop had a 6-foot-tall cactus that was originally made to be a birdhouse. Handcrafted over 60 years ago, it would serve to be our inspiration for our upcoming party celebrating Cinco de Mayo.
