Alexa just launched AI-generated podcasts — personalized, on-demand, any topic, powered by 200+ newsrooms, including Reuters, the Washington Post, and the AP. I'll give you a second with that.

And it's not just Amazon making noise. 35% of all new podcast feeds are already AI-generated, with nearly 500 new shows launching every single day.

For anyone in marketing or podcasting, here's the real takeaway: when anyone can generate a podcast in minutes, your differentiation isn't production anymore — it's you. Your POV. Your story. Your relationship with your audience. If you show up consistently, say something real, and build an audience that actually trusts you? No algorithm touches that.

I unpack stuff like this every week in But Wait, There's Moore Marketing 🎙️

Tell me what you want, what you really, really want. 🎤

(If you read that in the Spice Girls tune, you're my people.)

I'm at a crossroads with my content, and I'm doing the most Rachel thing possible: Asking you.

AI in marketing. Substack how-tos. Fractional work. All of the above. None of the above. Something totally new.

There's a poll on my Substack, and your opinion is the whole point. Two minutes. Four options. One very grateful blue-haired marketer on the other end.

Hot take: your marketing dashboard is lying to you.

Not on purpose. But if you're only measuring clicks, sessions, and CTR, you're missing the metric that's actually driving growth in 2026.

TRUST.

Yes, trust is now measurable. And it shows up in places most marketers aren't looking:

→ People searching your name directly (branded search)
→ AI tools citing your content in their answers
→ Visitors who skip Google and go straight to your site
→ Sales that your content influenced but never got credit for

When AI-generated content is everywhere, buyers look for credible signals more than ever. Vague positioning is expensive right now,
consistent, expert-led content compounds.

The question isn't whether trust matters. It's whether you can prove it's working. 👇

Your podcast can do more than build an audience.

It inspires your people from the inside out.

This is the kind of impact a well-produced show can have, not just on your listeners, but on your team's culture, morale, and willingness to show up and share.

That's the power of doing it right. 🎙️

At But Wait, There’s Moore, we believe the best ideas don’t stop at the obvious. Whether it’s content, marketing, or brand storytelling, there’s always another layer to uncover — something more human, more intentional, more effective.

And in an age of AI, that edge matters even more. Because our greatest advantage isn’t just speed or scale — it’s the real, unfiltered conversations we have with our clients and audiences.

Because the work that resonates? It doesn’t just inform; it connects.

A few weeks ago, we spent time on the ground in Austin — from packed venues to nonstop programming at SXSW — to bring back the insights that matter.

I had the opportunity to join a panel alongside Randi Kleiner and Jack Barsch. The conversation started where most do these days — AI and its impact on content and marketing — but quickly moved into something more grounded: the importance of human connection and meeting audiences where they are. Because beyond all the tools and trends, that’s still what drives meaningful work.

Grateful to GroundFloor Media and Jim Licko for bringing this together—and for the space to share and learn alongside such thoughtful voices.

A few weeks ago we hosted our 12th annual SXSW Denver Download, and I had the pleasure of hosting our panel of Randi Kleiner, Rachel Moore and my colleague Jack Barsch. It was a great discussion that, for obvious reasons, started with AI and its impact on content and marketing - but quickly shifted....

Full-time or fractional. I've stood at that crossroads — and nobody tells you how much weight that choice actually carries.

If you think fractional work is just about being “more flexible.” IT'S NOT.

It forces you to prove value faster, think sharper, and build trust quicker without the safety net of one company. Neither is easier. Just different.

If you’re navigating that decision right now, I share more of my experience (and what you can expect if you're in the same boat) in this video — 🎥 https://pulse.ly/ot96teygw3

In December 2025, YouTube shared that viewers streamed over 700 million hours of video podcasts on TVs in October alone. Not phones, not laptops - TVs.

Podcasting started in our earbuds on the subway. Now it's competing for the couch alongside Netflix.

For any marketer or brand still asking "Should we start a podcast?" — the question today is actually: "Should we start a VIDEO podcast?"

And the answer is yes. But only if you're ready to show up consistently and on camera.

Google ranks you. AI recommends you. Those are not the same thing — and the gap between them is your next big marketing problem.

Welcome to the era of GEO: Generative Engine Optimization.

Your content needs to stop competing for clicks and start competing for citations. AI doesn't send traffic to whoever ranked third. It names one answer and moves on.

Is your brand that answer?

Substack keeps changing, which is great if you're willing to change with it.

I've been figuring out what actually works right now. Not the generic advice from two years ago. The small, practical stuff.

Here's my setup:

✅ Free subscribers get the how-tos and walkthroughs. No catch.
✅ Paid subscribers go deeper on Boss Level Mondays and Hot Mic Fridays

Same free content on YouTube and Substack. No course. Just me showing you what I'm doing so you can do it too.
