Angel's Garage interview with actor RJ Mitte & Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption President / CEO Rita Soronen.
Actor RJ Mitte has appeared in several movies and TV series. He became a regular actor on AMC Network's Breaking Bad where he played a character with cerebral palsy. In real life, Mitte has a mild case of cerebral palsy. Mitte serves as the official Ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Hospitals for Children and is the celebrity face for the #CutTheBull campaign that launched in October 2014 in support of children with disabilities. He is involved with SAG-AFTRA as a member of the union's Performers with Disabilities Committee. Mitte is also currently attached to several productions as a producer.
Rita Soronen has led the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption since 2001 and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption-Canada since 2004. For over 30 years, Soronen has worked on behalf of abused, neglected and vulnerable children, providing leadership for local, state, and national efforts working to improve the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. Her passion is to establish a safe, loving, and permanent home to children who are in foster care.
The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption was founded in 1992 by Dave Thomas, the founder of the fast-food restaurant chain, Wendy’s. Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a nationwide, nonprofit charity foundation that is dedicated to finding permanent homes for children waiting in foster care for their future loving family. Their program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids®, has proven that at risk children are up to 3x more likely to be adopted.

We had the chance to speak to the president of Lewis Center for Educational Research, Lisa Lamb, about the newest happenings for students at the school.
