Haunted Long Beach 2025: The Fairytale of Fairbrook Manor
Have you heard of Fairbrook Manor? The homemade haunted house may be the most extravagant display in Long Beach of one man's dedication to the Halloween spirit.
Each year, Robert Duck, his family and a crew of student volunteers band together to scare the socks off anyone who dares venture into his front yard, filled with ghostly children, mutated animals and a grief-stricken spectral mother.
Duck puts so much care into the project that he crafted an entire backstory for the production. His dedication inspired us, so we decided to put his vision on film in this year's edition of our annual Halloween video series, Haunted Long Beach. It's with great pride (and admiration for the Duck family), that we present you The Fairytale of Fairbrook Manor.
After you’ve watched the video, read our article about how Duck and his family make it happen every year: https://lbpost.com/hi-lo/a-haunted-homemade-fairy-tale-takes-over-this-mans-east-long-beach-house-each-halloween/
Cal State Long Beach theatre arts professor Christopher Bange just took home the Karrell Fox Comedic Excellence Award, which the International Brotherhood of Magicians had not granted to a magician for 18 years.
The award, named for 20th-century American magician and television performer Karrell Fox, is given to a contestant who displays “a sense of comedic timing and wit over and above expectations." Established in 1922, the International Brotherhood of Magicians is the world’s largest organization dedicated to the art of magic, with members in over 88 countries.
