Lions Heart Music Festival: A Celebration of Reggae and Community

On August 19th, 2023, the Lions Heart Music Festival returned to Brandywine Outfitters in Coatesville, Pennsylvania for its second year. The festival featured six live Reggae bands, as well as food vendors, a beer garden, kids zone, and other activities.

The festival kicked off with a performance by Bushy Walker, a veteran reggae artist from Jamaica. Walker's set was full of energy, classic Reggae hits, and he got the crowd dancing early. Next up was Ras Jem, a rising star in the reggae scene. Jem's music is a mix of traditional reggae and modern influences, and his set was one of the highlights of the day.

The afternoon continued with performances by Solomon DUB, I Yahn I Arkestra, Rootsetters, and the main act, Arise Roots.
Each band brought their own unique style to the stage, and the crowd was in it from the start.

In addition, Lions Heart Music Fest also offered a variety of other activities for attendees to enjoy. There were food vendors like Sedellah's island Grill, Jamrock Caribbean Cuisine and Smoothie Heaven. All serving up a taste of the islands best foods; and the fresh coconuts! well, they were the ideal thirst quencher on a nice summer day.

The festival also had activities such as face painting, bouncy house and tubing on the Brandywine River while listening to music from the festival stage.
In addition to the fun and entertainment, the Lions Heart Music Festival also had an educational component. There was an environmental workshop where attendees could learn about sustainable practice and ways to reduce their impact on the environment.

The festival was also a great way to support local businesses and organizations. Many of the vendors were locals.

Overall, Lions Heart Music Fest was a huge success. The festival was well-organized and offered something for everyone.
This was a great opportunity to experience reggae culture firsthand. The music, the food, and the people all came together to create a truly unique and enjoyable experience.
