The 1956 Rifle team inspiring excellence!

Today in we are going back to the spring of 1956 when the Nevada rifle team captured the National Intercollegiate Rifle Championship in Berkeley, Calif., in March of 1956, making them the first Wolf Pack team to win a national championship. They also set a national record with 1,443 points out of a possible 1,500. In 2008, the team became the second to be inducted into the Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame. 💙🐺

It was our pleasure to honor recipients of the Nell J. Redfield Foundation Scholarship for University of Nevada, Reno National Merit Scholars at a wonderful luncheon in Morrill Hall yesterday. Thank you to the Redfield Foundation for giving $320,000 last year for these generous scholarships that follow the remarkable National Merit Scholars throughout their four years of college!

Congratulations to the absolutely amazing 2023-24 recipients of the Nell J. Redfield Foundation Scholarship for University of Nevada, Reno National Merit Scholars. And thank you to the Nell J. Redfield Foundation for their continued support of our University and students!
