City Engineer, Sam Tesreau, has announced Steward Road, between South Main Street and the Ogle County line south of the City Railroad crossing, will be under construction beginning Monday, August 5th until August 30th. It is anticipated the roadway will be open to traffic, utilizing flaggers, during the construction operations but will frequently be down to one lane.

Advance warning, flaggers, barricades, detour and other temporary traffic control devices will be posted near the affected area. Please use caution while traveling in this area and pay special attention to the advanced warning signage, flaggers, road closed signage and other temporary traffic control devices within or in advance of the work zone. We appreciate your patience during this project.

Candidate packets for three (3) 4-year full-term Council Members in the City of Rochelle are available in the Clerk’s Office at Rochelle City Hall located at 420 N 6th Street. Petitions may be circulated beginning July 30, 2024.

City residents running for the office must file as if there will be a primary election involving 13 or more candidates for the office of Council Member. If required, the Consolidated Primary Election will be held on February 25, 2025.

If there are not 13 or more candidates for the office of Council Member, there will not be a primary, and the names of the candidates will be placed on the ballot for the Consolidated General Election to be held on April 1, 2025.
