We caught the Grinch at Beacon Realty having some fun! Merry Christmas, Excelsior Springs!

A fire broke out at Morrow & Sons Lumber, located at 801 W. 6th St., on the evening of December 18, 2024. The fire was called in around 9:50 PM. Preliminary reports suggest that while the main building appears undamaged, the lumber storage building on the east side is a total loss. Thanks to the swift efforts of local fire crews, the blaze appeared to be under control by around 11 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Senior Tax Relief Presentation at ES Community Center

Senior Tax Relief Presentation at ES Community Center on December 6, 2024. The Clay County Commission passed the Senior Real Estate Property Tax Relief on November 30, 2023 [Clay County 2023-ORD-42]. The ordinance's provisions take effect January 1, 2025. The relief plan applies to eligible Clay County residents who are 62 years old or older. To be eligible, the Clay County resident must own, or have a legal interest in, a home within the county, claim that property as their primary residence, and be responsible for paying real estate taxes on that property. The resident may only claim one home as a primary residence.

In the recent past she has worked as the Executive Director for the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce and Excelsior Springs Educational Foundation. When not working, Courtney can usually be found out and about taking photographs of Excelsior and sharing what she sees on social media.
