Vanilla Fudge was one of the first American groups to infuse psychedelia into a heavy rock sound to create “psychedelic symphonic rock" an eclectic genre which would, among its many offshoots, eventually morph into influencing the heavy metal genre. They were best known for their dramatic, heavy, slowed-down arrangements of contemporary pop songs, which they developed into works of epic proportion. Originally, Vanilla Fudge was a blue-eyed soul cover band called The Pigeons, formed in New Jersey in 1965 with organist, Mark Stein, bassist, Tim Bogert and drummer, Joey Brennan, and guitarist, vocalist and US Navy veteran, Vince Martell. Later, Pete Bremy would take the Bass position after Tim Bogert left the band. -- Sadly, we lost Tim Bogert recently at age 76 from cancer. Tonight's overarching theme of the 'Morning Dew' Show on WFDU is a loving and in-depth 3 hour Tribute to Tim Bogert. We will feature Interviews with Fudge members Vince Martell, Joey Brennan, and Pete Bremy, and we'll bring you some of Tim's best musical moments from Vanilla Fudge. We'll even dip into Tim's work with Beck, Bogert & Appice and Bob Weir's 'Bobby & The Midnights'.

Finally, we l rounded things out with a heartfelt Tribute to master Trumpet / Coronet / French Horn / Arranger Peter Ecklund of David Bromberg Band for over 40 years, who passed away after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease recently. Rest In Peace, Peter... . ❤
