My uncle J***y has heard and seen me talk about these snook for years. He finally got to experience the adrenaline rush of one crushing a bait 4 times before inhaling it right at the boat.

A week full of 38s, hopefully the big mommas are right behind them.

I’ve pretty much have had deer mounted from every taxidermist in south Florida and I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no one who is as dialed in and consistent but also has the passion to go along with it other than Charlie Lastella and his wife Terry.
Operation Osceola was a huge success! Shoutout to everyone involved that made it happen including the brands that believe in me, the landowners who trusted me on their land, and all the clients who saved up their hard earned money to come chase this crazy bird that drives us all nuts. Let’s go snook fishing!

I must admit its really hard to focus getting aerial photos for this property when you got a rutting buck scraping trees below.
Only fishing cause I can’t hunt at night.

Tell me it’s hunting season without telling me it’s hunting season.
forced me out of the woods for a morning on the water. Couple big ones still lurking around!
New week, new career!! That’s right, I’ve joined forces with . You all know my passion for living that Florida lifestyle, but it runs deeper than just guiding. Owning land has always been my main objective in life and now I can help others realize that same dream. If your thinking about selling a 500 acre ranch loaded with bucks or perhaps wanting to buy a waterfront home with giant snook swimming in the backyard, give me a shout!
Can you take a guess at what my favorite animal is?
I’m sure I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again, there is NOTHING on this earth that gets my heart going like sneaking up to a wild Florida whitetail with a bow and arrow in my hand. I know it’s not for all of you, but my god I hope you find something in your life that makes you feel and experience the emotions that’s bowhunting deer brings me. Anyways, saw this brute out in a cut pasture at 730 am. He had 3 does corralled in the corner of the field as they were all slowly retreating into the thick slough as the sun started to heat things up. I used a thick group of palm trees to block their view of me while I crept to cut the distance. As soon as I popped on the other side of the palm head, he was standing there about 45 yards. He was facing directly away from me slowly feeding towards the does. I patiently waited for him to present a shot but he never did. He then went around one more tall grass thicket so I did the same thing as before. I let him get around it and I cut the distance again. I tried to get to an even 40 yards but my last step was a little louder than I anticipated for and it alerted the buck. We did this 3 min stare off where I was stuck in a half sneek position. My calves were on fire trying to hold while not getting busted. Finally he looked away for a split second where I completely stood up and drew my bow. At that time he started to lip curl and began do***ng the doe’s. The doe’s ran into the thicket and I thought for sure he was gone but he stopped right at the edge and did that last final look back. I figured he ran 20 yards since I last had him at 40 so I buried the 60 yard pin behind the shoulder and squeezed it off. By that time he was beginning to take step into the swamp again which resulted in the arrow hitting about 8 inches further back than I wanted, up and down was good but I knew it was liver/gut for sure. I knew it was minimal 6 hours that I had to give it and I also knew that I needed a dog. The slough was slap full of water and the blood trailing was going to be minimal. I slide in dms cause I’ve watched him and his wife work their dogs and know they are very in tune with the swamp.
I don’t mean to brag (ok yes I do) but are y’all’s chic walking around in the dark by themselves, setting up their own climber, and then calling you saying come drag this buck bitch boy... ok she didn’t say it like that but I wouldn’t mind if she did.
Would like to thank Jim Whittington and his team of biologists along with the for allowing me to help them with their cubera studies. The more time I spend on the water, the more I realize that the fish stock is a very fragile resource. It’s a shame how many people I see out on the water neglecting the fishery weather it’s so called “guides” mishandling fish or kooks who think it’s cool to kill big breeding snook. You guys know who you are and I know your bitch ass will read this...sorry I get fired up. Anyways back to the cubera, for those still wondering these tags will gather movement data and habitat usage. This tagged fish will now become part of a large network of biologists that are tracking animals all along the U.S. eastern seaboard and into the Gulf of Mexico. The snapper have been dart tagged with an acoustic transmitter and would provide more data if they are released, thank you for those who already have and those who might catch a tagged cubera in the future for letting them go. For the record I am not against keeping the cubera just don’t take more than you need.
Well that’s a wrap for me with the exception of a couple more charters here in the next couple weeks. I want to thank everyone who came and spent the day with me, I had a blast with y’all! For those who I could not get to I’m sorry but I tried my best to squeeze in as many people as I possibly could! The boat is destroyed! Going to need new upholstery, new dekit, mad trailer work, new trim tab switch, new batteries, new power pole modules, couple new gauges, and a serious detail. At this time I will be no longer taking any bookings for fishing as I will be pursuing another career thru out the next few months, but I will be sure to let you guys and girls know when the Ranger is back in commission.

4 years later and it still hurts to watch. 53 yarder that felt so good when it left the bow. My problem was that morning I decided to attach a GoPro to the front of my bow and I always let the bow naturally drop forward after the shot but that extra weight of the GoPro must have dropped the bow faster than usual. I was so devastated that I had to make this video making fun of the situation to prevent myself from swan diving out of the climber. #publiclandfreak #swingandamiss #laughsoyoudontcry
