Many event goers find it difficult to find events online since many sources are not easy to use or kept up to date. Many venues find it difficult and expensive to advertise their events - this decreases their audience and revenue. We will bridge this gap. So many will benefit from our website and social media exposure: talented performers will draw more bigger audiences; classes will be better att

ended, parents will be made aware of opportunities for children, and much more. My partner, Rebecca Gonzalez, and I work each day to bring Big Island the most up-to-date, comprehensive and easy to use online events calendar on the island. Please join us!

We want to say mahalo to this year’s judges for selecting some amazing pieces. ⁣
Judges:⁣
Mina Elison⁣ ⁣
Brandy-Alia Serikaku⁣ .alia ⁣
Shane Molina⁣ ⁣

Sponsored by EHCC and the Hawai‘i District Department of Education ⁣

The Young at Art annual juried exhibition celebrates National Youth Art Month by recognizing the excellence, creativity and originality of K-12 students on Hawai’i Island in all public, charter, and private schools, as well as home-schooled students.⁣

This year, we’re expanding Young At Artʻs impact and accessibility by creating a community-based art experience. For the first time, the exhibit will be on view at multiple locations across Hawai‘i Island. Locations include small businesses, public libraries, County facilities and more. ⁣

231 artworks are showcased at 26 locations around the island, aiming to bring more visibility to Youth Art Month (March) and the importance of arts education in schools. ⁣

Made possible with support from the 2023 County of Hawai‘i Waiwai grant program.⁣

Big mahalo to the EHCC/YAS/Young At Art team for their hard work on this project over the past year!⁣

Spring is in the air as the garden comes to life with vibrant colors and blooming Orchids. That's right. This month we'll be showcasing some of the various orchids we have in the garden starting with the Queen Victoria's Dendrobium.

It's scientific name is Dendrobium victoriae-reginae Loher. It is commonly Blue or Lavender in color, making this pink variation unique thus the name Loher and is a native to the Philippines. Its blooming period is January to April so stop by our Orchid Garden to see this and many others in bloom.

The growth of Hawaiian language immersion schools has exploded in recent years. Fifty years ago, there were only a handful of Hawaiian language speakers. Now, the community is thriving. The story of that education stretches from kupuna to keiki.
