SUMMARY OF POSITION
AV Installation Technician I is an entry level position responsible for installing and supporting complex audio/visual systems in various commercial customer environments. A typical day may consist of, but is not limited to, pulling cable in ceilings, installing AV equipment (projector screens, projectors, speakers, stage lights, TVs, etc.), or shop work to prepare for future projects. The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team to install and support AV systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves customers by installing AV components including, but not limited to, cable, raceway, equipment, terminating equipment, and setting up equipment.
- Report to work at a defined time, understand a supervisor’s job instructions and analyze work orders and associated drawings/manuals.
- Prepare for the day’s project by loading equipment and tools for the job, traveling to/from the job site, and communicating with the customer.
- Perform assigned work for customers by carrying out the planned daily job tasks, daily logging work performed and updating the supervisor on daily work progress.
- Work individually or as a team member with fellow company workers, other job trades workers, customer staff, and other personnel on-site.
- Maintain customer information in the appropriate method for privacy concerns.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing relating results as needed.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of experience in low voltage wiring, construction or related field.
- Must be a self-motivated worker and team player, but also able to work with limited direct supervision after the training period is completed.
- Proficient in using basic hand and power tools
- Good in-person communication skills
- A can-do attitude and cheerful personality
- IT/Computer skills preferred
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work overhead
- Must be able to work flexible hours with overnight travel approximately 20% of the time
