In this video, Shane Rosenthal, host of The Humble Skeptic podcast, takes a trip to a museum on the campus of the University of Haifa in Israel, in order to take a closer look at what he believes is one of the most significant, yet overlooked, archaeological discoveries related to the Bible. In 1983, an ossuary belonging to Joanna, the granddaughter of Theophilus, the high priest, was discovered near Jerusalem. Could this be a reference to the Joanna and Theophilus mentioned in Luke’s Gospel (Lk 1:3, 8:3, 24:10)?

🤔 Faith doesn’t usually vanish overnight—it often fades in silence.
Countless young people walk away from Christianity because they never had a safe space to voice their questions.
Doubt doesn’t destroy faith—silence does.
Healthy churches don't shy away from tough questions, they encourage them!

📜 In Romans 16:21, Paul writes: “Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you. So do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.”

👀 Could this Lucius actually be Luke, the author of the Gospel?

Dr. Peter Bolt explains that for centuries scholars thought Lukas (Luke) couldn’t be a shortened form of Lucius. But early 20th-century inscriptions changed everything. 🏺

Two ancient texts describe the same family—one calls a son Lukas, the other Lucius.

⚡ Sometimes one piece of evidence is all it takes to overturn a long-held theory.

What do you think — coincidence or confirmation? 🤔

🔎Many archaeological discoveries are like an echo from the past. Far from mythology, the text of Luke rests on history that continues to find confirmation. Inscriptions, ossuaries, and ruins show that Luke wrote as a careful historian—not a storyteller who invented fables.

📜 Is the famous passage about Jesus found in the works of the first-century Jewish historian Josephus authentic, or is it a complete forgery?

After consulting several ancient translations of Josephus’ famous passage about Jesus, T.C. Schmidt, in a new book by Oxford University Press, argues that Josephus' famous passage about Jesus is authentic, but has been misinterpreted and poorly translated over the centuries.

💡 Josephus didn't advocate Christian beliefs, but he simply wrote down what his disciples "reported" about Jesus—including what they believed about his death, burial and resurrection! It's also worth noting that Josephus personally knew many of the principle men in Jerusalem who were responsible for Jesus' ex*****on.

What do you think — is this a subtle nuance or a major historical clarification? 🤔

Many people miss the significance of Gabriel’s appearance to Mary at the scene of the annunciation in Luke chapter 1. The only other place he shows up in the Bible is in the book of Daniel, where he announces the coming of the “prince Messiah.” In short, this appears to be his second annunciation.

🔎 Have references to Moses been found in ancient inscriptions in the region of Mt Sinai? Thanks to high-resolution scans and casts, details once invisible to the naked eye are now being revealed.

📜 In one inscription, researchers have identified the phrase “This is from Moses.” These references appear in areas that previous scholars weren't able to detect without today’s advanced imaging.

💡 With sharper scans and careful analysis, new layers of history are emerging — raising the question: are we seeing genuine traces of Moses preserved in ancient records?

What do you think — breakthrough discovery or over-interpretation? 🤔
