The Secrets of Life is an intimate documentary that explores the wisdom of those who have truly lived, affirming that aging is one of life’s most beautiful acts. Through candid interviews, a group of elders - including Spanish and English speakers from Florida, Ecuador and Puerto Rico - share hard-earned lessons on purpose, perseverance, and the importance of taking “blind faith to step out.”
Featuring individuals like Edgar, 74, who found his purpose in helping people, Carmen, 78, who lives without regret, and Elizabeth, 71, who reminds us of the importance of connection, the film reveals that the true secrets of life are not hidden, but are found in the intentional act of walking through life and in recognizing the history of past generations in hopes of getting “just a little bit ahead of the curve.”

When I first started filming events I was constantly running around looking like my head was cut off🤣 I was so afraid of missing something and kept trying to film every single detail. I thought that's what I need to do to fully get the whole experience. But in reality I was spending so much time in post going through all the footage that I was just miserable and couldn't stay consistent with my work

Here are a few tips I learned along my journey I hope this helps

First: Know your call to action for the event. Yes you want to capture people having a good time but what really is the message behind the event. Is it raise money? Community Awareness? Once you figure out the answer you will start having a better picture of the whole event.

Second: Show up early!!! Get there before the crowd gets there! Its so important to get yourself familiar with the venue and so you can get different shots of the venue for Broll. Its so much easier getting the shots in the begining instead of coming back.

Third: SHOT LIST! SHOT LIST! SHOT LIST! I can't stress this enough. It's so important to have, even if you think you don't need it. Trust me you are going to need it! Event days are hectic and anything can happen. Your client might special request filming certain moments or you completly drew a blank (It has happen to me) . This will save you so much time especially when editing
