This is like telling a chef “wow this food was delicious you must have a great oven”, yes the tools are important and help improve on the final product but they are worthless without the skill and knowledge of how to use them.

I could go on about this one for a while, but to be short, it is so much more than clicking a button. Years of learning and honing our craft, tens of thousands of dollars in equipment, insurance, continued education, business stuff, taxes etc. I could go on. But I’ll leave it at that for now.

No it’s not just the wedding day. The wedding day is a very small percentage of the work actually. There’s client communication, putting together the timeline, shot list, prepping etc. Then hundreds of hours of editing not to even mention any of the stuff it takes to run the business outside of dealing with just that one wedding. Emails, social media, marketing, client education, on and on and on.

First off, yes there are exceptions like when professionals shoot for each other, or when someone is just starting out, but that’s not what I’m talking about. Editing is half of the art, most photographers shoot with a specific vision in mind that comes to fruition in the editing
How adorable is the Reising Stage beer burro Hugh?

According to an American Express report, nearly six million couples are likely to get engaged on Valentine's Day. 😍
But what’s the first step to planning your dream day? 👇🏽
👉🏼 If you decide to PICK A DATE first:
Some couples have a specific date that holds significance, a special anniversary or celebration of a loved one.
But if you choose the date first, keep in mind this could limit your venue options! If there’s a special place you fall in LOVE with, it might make more sense to choose the venue FIRST and lock in an available date.
👉🏽 If you choose the VENUE first:
Choosing the Venue means securing the date, which also means you can start shopping other vendors!
Picking your venue also gives you important info to move forward like the amount of guests you can accommodate, recommended pros in the area, coordination team etc.
When choosing a venue we always recommend making a list of the aesthetics you want the most!
Mountain view’s, bodies of water, greenery, coordination, lodging, location etc. ✔️✔️✔️
The list might be long and dreamy, but look at venues with at least THREE of your wish list items and you’ll find it much easier to feel out a perfect fit!
Happy planning friends and congrats on your engagement! 💍
