ROLLOVER ACCIDENT ON DEANS BRIDGE ROAD CLAIMS LIFE OF AUGUSTA FATHER; 4 OTHERS INJURED
The driver, identified as Antonio Jenkins Jr. (pictured), was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 10:44 p.m. Saturday. Four passengers were taken to the hospital.

DEAD BODY FOUND IN AUGUSTA
Richmond County authorities are investigating a dead body on Laney Walker Boulevard discovered Saturday afternoon. The coroner confirms they are on the way. The coroner later confirmed that it was a natural death of an elderly person. No other details were released.

RIVAL GANG FIGHT IN AUGUSTA JAIL LEAVES TEEN WITH MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS!

STABBING AT THE JAIL:
UPDATE FROM RCSO: "On August 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center in reference to an aggravated assault incident between several inmates. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that a stabbing occurred and requested the Criminal Investigation Division to respond. Investigators are actively investigating this incident and no further information is available at this time. " (END)

We’re working to get details on a Thursday morning stabbing at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. At least one person was transported to the hospital after the call, around 10 a.m. Thursday.
Note: the sheriff’s office says it was NOT Sheriff Roundtree that called it in, and he was not at the jail.

CCSO RELEASES MUGS OF JUVENILES AFTER BRAZEN ROBBERY AT SALSA'S
The suspects include three juveniles who allegedly participated in a robbery by sudden snatching at the restaurant on Bobby Jones Expressway. One of five suspects grabbed $37 cash a customer had left in a black payment wallet and they all fled toward Washington Road, sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris said. From there, deputies started an intense manhunt. One got away.

AIKEN COUNTY HOUSEGUEST SECRETLY RECORDS TEEN GIRL IN BATHROOM
Anthony Silva, 54, was charged Tuesday with 29 counts of s*xual exploitation of a minor. The homeowner or resident called the sheriff’s office in July, saying Silva was allowed to stay at his Wagener residence for three months. Then, they found a hidden camera disguised as a wall charger.

CONSTRUCTION WORKER KILLED IN ACCIDENT AT LAKEVIEW TERRACE APARTMENTS ON GORDON HIGHWAY
Adan Cruz Binzha, 28, was rushed to Doctors Hospital after the accident, where he was pronounced dead at 5:56 p.m. Friday. Binzha was from Hidalgo, Mexico, and was living in Augusta while he worked.

Carneshia Collier spent her fourth day in jail Sunday for allegedly jumping on a school bus and cursing at the driver and children, authorities said. Collier, 36, of Augusta, was charged Thursday with disrupting public school and criminal trespass.

Please take a look at the attached photos and see if you recognize the suspect in a shoplifting at Beverage Outlet on Bobby Jones Expressway in Martinez. The female took a 750ml bottle of Don Julio Anejo from the shelf and placed the item into a large purse she had in tote, authorities say. MAN FALLS FROM BACK OF TRUCK IN NORTH AUGUSTA & GETS STRUCK BY THE TRUCK'S TRAILER
A man died Friday after falling off the back of a truck on a North Augusta roadway and getting hit by the trailer being towed on the same vehicle.
The incident occurred around 4:03 p.m. Friday on the 6000 block of Northside Drive, Coroner Darryl Ables said. EMS transported the injured man to WellStar MCG, where he was pronounced dead at 5:07 p.m.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. The Aiken County Coroner's Office, in conjunction with the Highway Patrol, is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

UPDATE: RCSO ASSISTS FBI IN ARRESTING MURDER SUSPECT Richmond County authorities, in collaboration with the FBI, assisted in the arrest of a murder suspect from Athens on Thursday. Desmontrez Mathis was apprehended in Augusta as part of a coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, as confirmed by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. Mathis faces a series of serious charges including malice murder, felony murder, four counts of aggravated assault, and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Additionally, he is confronted with federal charges linked to unlawful flight. The arrest stems from an incident on March 8, where two children, including a 3-year-old boy, and one adult were shot inside their residence at the Hallmark Mobile Home Park on Spring Valley Road in Athens, shortly after 5:30 p.m. While watching television inside their residence, the victims were subjected to gunfire from a group outside. Among them was three-year-old Kyron Santino Zarco Smith, who tragically succumbed to his injuries. Mathis mugshot is shown in the comment section, as well as the child victim. (The arrest in the video was not the mall shooter, authorities said.)
