🌐 💗 Happy ! There are 4.5 billion active social media users. That's approximately 57% of the world's population according to Hootesuite. This is why I love social media.

1. It's a cost-effective/ mostly free way to amplify a mission
2. Potential HUGE audience
3. It helps you get discovered/brings awareness to a business or organization/one of the best validation tools for a business
4. It starts important conversations
5. It can connect you to old friends and family
6. You can learn so many great life hacks
7. It can spread love and joy and promote social change
8. Promotes safety and can help with humanitarian efforts across the globe
9. Provides socialization for introverts, eases loneliness, and is entertaining
10. Makes communicating faster and easier

I think LinkedIn has become my fav! Did you know parents can add "stay-at-home mom" and "stay-at-home dad" titles to their résumés and have more options to describe gaps in their careers due to parenting. This initiative is just one more important step towards destigmatizing caretaking. 👏🏽👏🏽

For those of you who prefer to socialize via your desktop computer instead of your smart phone, Instagram has been slowly rolling out being able to create, edit, filter and post from your computer. Up until now we’ve only been able to do this on our smart phones. Some of you may already have the capability to do this. If you don’t have it yet, it’s coming!

You may be able to create, edit, filter and post Instagram pics from a PC or Mac already. We explain how.

Social media has always been fascinating to me from a psychological standpoint. Here's a great article about how the pandemic has changed social media habits. The article states that Americans spent on average 82 minutes per day on social media in 2020, a seven-minute jump from 2019. Have concerns about screen time and “time well spent” gone out the window?

How do you spend most of your time on social media? Buying, selling, mingling, dancing, or just searching for something to make you laugh? 🤣

One year in, Covid-19 has altered everything, including how we use social media.

Unfortunately with apps like Snapchat, messages can disappear after sent and there’s no way to monitor communication. Parents, be mindful and continue to be vigilant of social media use /communication of your kids and their contacts. I’m curious, what’s working for you? Do you use a monitoring app? Do you spot check their phones, make them dock their phones at night? Try to keep them off social media all together?

Happy Friday everyone!

In February 2020, I acquired Social Solved from a friend. A month later quarantine hit, my three kids were home, virtually schooling, the 2nd grader needing my constant attention and all of them eating all day and messing up the house. Eek! I know so many can relate to the whirlwind that has been the past 15 months.

Despite the craziness, I've loved every minute of freelancing and helping small businesses and nonprofits manage their online communities. And I'll admit I've secretly enjoyed having the kids around.

With that said, my own branding has taken a back seat and today, I'm so excited to present to you the fresh, new look of Social Solved! A slightly new logo with some of my fav colors, a brand new website and an updated business phone number (919-307-1450). Want to share something I just noticed on Instagram this morning. When you try to add multiple photos to the same post, it no longer shows the little icon for that. But, if you press and hold on a photo from your camera roll while you are in there trying to create the post, it will automatically pop up with options to add multiple photos.
