Creep of the Week: Dems who keep confirming Trump's crazy cabinet picks!

"When Democrats ignore the persecution and scapegoating of transgender people, when they ignore the inhumane treatment of migrants, what they are doing is normalizing it. Their silence is essentially saying to the majority of the country, “This is not such a big deal.” And to the people directly affected they’re saying, “You’re on your own.”

For decades now I’ve heard, “Democrats are terrible at messaging.” It’s true that messaging is hard. Especially when there’s non-stop noise from the opposition party. What Democrats need to be doing is getting a megaphone and screaming from the highest mountain. Instead, they have decided to say nothing.

🌈 LGBTQ rights imperiled in a post-election America

"One of the most prominent concerns among the LGBTQ community is the future of marriage equality. The 2015 Supreme Court decision Obergefell v. Hodges legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. However the overturning of Roe v. Wade reopened the possibility of that ruling being revisited. Justice Clarence Thomas and Justice Samuel Alito have already expressed willingness to revisit Obergefell, labeling it as judicial overreach. If the case were overturned, the legality of same-sex marriage would revert to individual states, more than 25 of which still have same-sex marriage bans on the books from before the ruling."

Tonight you may see a Super Bowl ad sponsored by Elon Musk that includes misinformation and conspiracy theories about USAID. In addition to providing humanitarian aid to the world’s poorest people, USAID is a major source of American soft power that has enabled us to counter global influence efforts of our adversaries — the Soviet Union during the Cold War and Russia and China today. Not for nothing, but Ivanka Trump used USAID as the vehicle for her women’s economic empowerment initiative!

Musk himself worked with USAID to bring his Starlink services to Ukraine. In fact, his beef with USAID may stem partly from USAID’s inspector general investigation into how those terminals were used to Russia’s benefit. (Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), has also suggested that Musk’s dismantling of USAID is an effort to curry favor with China, for whom USAID is a thorn in its side, so that he can market his self-driving cars there)

In addition to the millions of people around the world who are already suffering from the halting of aid, the funding cutoff also impacts billions of dollars that go to U.S. businesses and farmers that supply the food and humanitarian goods that go to these locations, impacting American jobs and our economy.

🙂 We spoke to super talented actor Lukas Gage about his jaw-dropping roles, like his iconic role in "Smile 2" and in the upcoming movie "Companion."

Gage shared, "I think I’m still figuring it out, and it’s still a thing that’s a work in progress. I have a hard time with where the intersection of private and public meets and how much I should share with the world and how much I want to keep to myself because it’s sacred to me.
Tina Fey said something recently in an interview about authenticity coming at a price, and authenticity is expensive, and as you gain more success, you’re going to want to give less away to the world because that’s important to you. I’m doing a bad job of paraphrasing, but it’s true. I think that I’m still figuring it out, and I want to be someone who can be a role model and someone who can be looked up to and someone who I maybe didn’t have as a kid, but also I’m not perfect and I’m damaged just like Skye is, and I have my faults and I’m definitely a work in progress, as we all are."
