Folks have been asking about how to sign up and what’s the schedule for startup of the Trail Town Arts workshops….. so….. Here’s the dates/times for first meetings. No pre-registration is needed, but do let us know ahead if you need accommodations for a disability. To sign in, go to the gym at 120 Comet Drive at the time/date of your workshop(s). Open to all ages and you can attend all topics of interest! Schedule is in the comment.

Songwriting class starts Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.

Students will learn songwriting techniques and learn how to perform on stage to a live audience. This course is open to everyone at all skill levels. Students will have a group and individual mentoring.

Matt Parsons is also our local librarian and a traditional musician. He has years of
experience in songwriting, performing, and teaching.

Stringed instrument building and repair class starts Nov. 15 at 6 p.m.

Carter County’s William Parsons is a luthier specializing in mandolins who lives and works in Olive Hill, Ky. Luthiery is the craft of making stringed instruments, including guitars and banjos, and in Appalachia, the artists who make the instruments are praised as highly as the artists who play them.
