Whales were spotted swimming with their fins in the air off the coast of Brazil on Thursday (6/20). A whale-watching program was launched in Niteroi that allows people to watch the mammals up close. The whales usually migrate to waters near Brazil to breed between June and November.

Fourteen Magellanic penguins were released back into the wild after being rehabilitated in Argentina on June 14. According to a veterinarian, the penguins were dehydrated, malnourished, and anemic and were nursed back to health until they reached a stable weight and health.
Pickles the piglet led officers on a chase after it escaped from its mom and was seen running in and out of a roadway in Sebastopol, California, on Thursday (6/13). Officers with the help of bystanders were able to corner the runaway swine in a side yard and take it into custody before reuniting it with its mother. The police joked that they decided not to charge Pickles for "resisting a peace officer."
Dash cam video captured the moment a Virginia state trooper was hit with her patrol car in Fairfax County, Virginia, on Tuesday (6/11). The police said the officer stepped out of her car to a DUID driver when a driver under the influence hit the back of her patrol car around 3 AM. Both drivers were arrested, the police confirmed.
