Day One Accountability Post - Are you an all in kinda person on day one ready to take on the world or are you like me and totally hem and how until you actually get going and then you can finally settle in?? I don’t know why this time feels different?? Maybe because I know that my prior stop-stills were not in my own control and it makes me so dissapointed that someone else’s circumstances once again derailed my goals… but enough of that. We are letting that $h-t go and focusing solely on today and staying on track to stay healthy!

Let me be clear, weight loss is a benefit to this program, it is not my goal. Remember my video… stress made me sick again. Thyroid function is worse than before I had my cancer diagnosis and I feel like crap! I’m by removing the foods that make me sick. is the start of all health! Let me say that again… if your gut is healthy you will feel better!

The detox is real…
As I sit here nursing this mega headache I am reminded exactly why I needed this in the first place. I could give up, yes, but what would that accomplish?? Nothing.

So I will stick it out and continue the program and remember my why!! Because my boys need their mama to be healthy!!

Taking back my health Day 1! Today I want to talk about how I got back to this point and why it’s important to recognize triggers…

Stress is critical in the development of autoimmune diseases. Chronic stress causes inflammation, immune dysregulation, imbalances in gut health, and dysfunction in the HPA axis, all of which contribute to autoimmunity. It can't be overstated how vital stress reduction efforts are.

For me and my health living without a thyroid, stress can alter my thyroid function - or lack thereof - and quickly cause fatigue, depression, weight gain and foggy brain.

“And once the storm is over you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won't be the same person you walked in.”

I want to thank you all for your support, kindness and well wishes over the past few months. Even though I was exactly where I needed to be, the days were long and hard and knowing that I had my friends and family to lean in to made the hardest days easier.

Today is a new day and I am feeling grateful and blessed! Back at the gym and back to making myself a priority again.

Hey everybody!

Just wanted to check in with you here as I know I’ve been a little quiet. Unfortunately, as it turns out, my flu turned into pneumonia, so that’s why you haven’t seen any workout videos yet. I promise I’m going to come back from this stronger than I was before, but for now I need to continue to rest. 75 hard is gonna have to wait until I’m strong enough to do it. You bet your crazy asses I’m gonna do it though.

We spend so much time and energy rooting for our children, our partners, our friends and family and even our co-workers that sometimes we don’t have any energy left at the end of the day for ourselves.

I woke up at 5:00 am like usual and let Loki out and damn it was cold!! Yes Florida Cold 40°! So I sat down on my bed with Miss Brooke to warm up and next thing I knew it was 7:29!!! Guess the gym was out this morning.. I barely made it to work on time.

This didn’t stop me or derail me! I went right to gym after work and worked my upper body and abs and then home for dinner and my 45 minute walk … wait for it … IN THE RAIN!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Got it all done ✅

Saying goodbye to 2023 I have so many mixed emotions and feelings. The year was filled with struggle, no doubt but this year also brought so many beautiful moments, new friendships and lasting memories. I have lots to be thankful for, mostly my health, my boys and all of the amazing beautiful friends and family that have come alongside me along the way this past year.

2024 brings fresh starts and new beginnings so that’s just where I intend to place my focus right now…

You all supported and followed my journey when I attempted 75 Hard back in October and due to unforeseen circumstances had to stop after just 33 days. So today I recommit to the program and am ready to take this on fully…NO EXCUSES!

Ready to win this time and

Hey everyone!! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Just wanted to drop in here with an update.

The boys and I have had to get through some challenges but are adjusting as well as we can be under the circumstances. We are all healthy and we have each other for support and love and really that’s all we can ask for.

Our situation has gotten a bit better and we are thankful to you all for your thoughts and prayers (even with little to no information on what we needed in the moment) during these past two months.

Stay tuned for some health and fitness updates from me in the upcoming days…

Here’s the deal… I’m always gonna keep it real with y’all!

My family has endured a very difficult situation. One that I am not ready to share about.

For the past two weeks I have tried to hide behind the pain, and keep pushing towards my goals, but the truth of the matter is, I needed to take a minute to pause and to do some damage control to get me and the boys into a position where we are safe and we are ok.

Thank you to those who have reached out. We will be ok eventually and we will keep pushing forward and hopefully come out stronger on the other side of this.

When I say I’m not ready to talk about it yet, it’s more that I can’t talk about it yet. But just know that my boys and I appreciate all of your prayers and support during this time. God knows our struggles and will protect and guide us right now. I truly believe in the power of prayer. So keep them coming. 🙏

I love you all for your support and your friendship. ❤️

I did not write these words but they do sound like something I could have written right now, today. Instead, I read them at the exact moment I needed to hear them. I cannot site the page I got them from because I don’t remember and it was a random page, but I’m sharing them with you tonight because I am thinking they may apply to you too.

If you feel like giving up, read this:

1. This is a Phase.
Tough times are just a phase. They don't last forever. Life is a cycle of highs and lows. Remember, this too shall pass. You're in the middle of the storm now, but clear skies are ahead. Hold on.

2. You Are Stronger Than You Think.
Never underestimate your resilience.

- You've survived 100% of your bad days.
- Inside you, there is an inner strength.
- Your potential is greater than any problem.

Remember, you're stronger and more capable than you believe.

3. Small Steps Count.
Progress isn't always a leap forward. Sometimes it's tiny, almost imperceptible steps. Each step, no matter how small, brings you closer to your goal. Celebrate every bit of progress. Slow and steady can still win the race. Keep moving forward.

4. Remember Your 'Why'.
Think back to the reasons why you started. Reconnect with your motivation and your goals.

5. Failure is a Stepping Stone.
It's okay to fall but it's important to rise again. Every setback brings learning opportunities. Remember, every great success story involves overcoming obstacles. Keep going. Your story is being written.

6. Practice Self-Care.

Self-care is essential, especially during tough times.

- Eat nutritious food
- Exercise regularly
- Get adequate sleep
- Connect with loved ones
- Engage in activities that bring joy.

It’s not selfish, it's survival. Your well-being matters.

7. It's Okay to Ask for Help.
Remember, you're not alone in this journey.

- Reach out to friends, family, or professionals
- Open up about your struggles
- Seek support when you need it

Strength isn't just about enduring in silence. It's also knowing when to ask for help.

To my friends and readers, Fight for yourself. No matter how difficult it becomes, never let yourself give in. After some time, your spark will eventually return. You will come out happier, healthier, and wiser. We are in this together.

Monday.
Day 29/75 - today was a hard day for me mentally, physically and emotionally.

Could it be DLST? Maybe.
Could it be my life is in total survival mode again? Possibly.
Could it just be a bad day? Definitely.

Guess what?
I’m here doing the damn thing anyway.

Guess what else?
Tomorrow I’m going wake up to a new day. A fresh start. A better attitude.

And I’m gonna crush it!!! 💪💪

You are not broken.

I recently had a conversation with my father about being in survival mode again and thinking out loud “I can’t believe I am back in this place again.” We went on to talk about how I have struggled my entire adult life. I learned how to survive starting at 18 years old when I found myself faced with the first real challenge of my life.

Now you can all say poor Kristi she had this difficult path to walk, or I don’t know how she gets through her days still smiling through the pain…

But the truth is, all of that struggle, all of that pain and all of the suffering that I had to endure over the past 30 years has all just made me stronger.

I am not broken.

I will always and forever know my worth. My trials that I have faced up to this point have all taught me how to persevere. They have shown me humility and they have given me the opportunity to become the best version of myself that I can be so proud to be.

So I ask you this today, “How are you going to take your mess and turn it into a message?” “Are you going to let the pain and the fear you are facing right now define you or are you going to take that negative energy and transform it into something beautiful?”

I chose joy every single day. Even when it’s so hard to face the reality of what I am facing.

There is always beauty in the ashes! Take your current situation and find the good… even if it means that by you having to go through it, you will be able to help someone else get to the other side too.

I believe in you!
I love you!
You are worthy of a beautiful life and I pray that you will love it to the fullest! I pray that you will see just how beautiful you are and find the strength to tell yourself that today! You got this!

“I AM A CHAMPION” - it’s what got me through my run today. My pace was definitely up and I felt strong and encouraged. All the crap I have endured this past week just sweat out of me! It’s gonna be a long road for me and my boys to heal from some stuff but we will come out the other side stronger.

C is for the courage I possess through the trauma
H is for the hurt, but it's all for the honor
A is for my attitude working through the patience
Money comes and goes, so the M is for motivation
Gotta stay consistent, the P is for persevere
The I is for integrity, innovative career
The O is optimistic, open and never shut
And the N is necessary 'cause I'm never givin' up!

What helps you through the pain?? Is it a song? A friend? A certain workout? Sitting on the beach? A hike through the mountains?

My therapy is running. It helps me work through the stuff in my head. It’s helps me feel strong, empowered, emotional at times and accomplished.

This program came at the perfect time for me. The universe knew I would need it and God whispered the time is now. I have never felt so much clarity and strength in my life. I have never believed in myself more than I do now. And my boys need me to be strong and have my head on straight more than they ever have before.

Thank you Andy Frisella for sharing the and thank you Ted Handley for suggesting we do this together! I am a true believer in everything happening at the right time and everything happening for a reason.

Weekends can be a time to recharge and relax but…don’t let the weekend be your excuse to derail or to ruin all of your hard work and efforts you had this week. 🙌🙌

Get outside and take a walk, hit the gym, follow a workout video, go bowling, biking, rake leaves, shovel snow (yes it’s snowing in parts of the US already!). ⛄️

I don’t care how you move…just get out and move!
