Our Story
Action Video Entertainment was founded in 1992 by Bill Janis, John Googins and John McCarthy as a video production company. It provided goods and service in the field of broadcast quality videos and was the primary video source for Mt. Shasta's local cable channel 3 (King Videocable/Continental Cablevision/MediaOne/Northland Cable Television). It was taken over by Mike Summers in 2005 and was essentially dormant until 2010.
It is currently being run as a service as it restructures itself and looks to become and broadcast company. As a part of that broadcast company, AVE announced on July 3, 2017, that the company was returning to its old home base of Mt. Shasta, California. We also merged with The Wacko Radio Network to create the new Action VR Network, which is based out of Coconut Creek, Florida, and officially hit the air on July 6, 2017. Action VR Network became principal owner of AVE in 2018.
On April 25, 2019, Action Video Entertainment has announced that it will cease operations on June 30, 2019. Operations officially ended on July 1, 2019, effectively ending 26 1/2 years of video excellence and broadcast production. The company will transition into a new entity known as Action VR TV sometime in the fall of 2019.
