I am excited to begin working with Charlie Berger to build up his social media presence!

Charlie is a liquid graphite--a artistic method he developed himself--ink, paint, and multi-media artist. His primary pursuit is teaching painting and drawing classes here in Cincinnati. While he offers classes that require enrollment and cover specific techniques, he also offers amazing "TGIF" classes on Fridays that are drop by sessions where he can push your creativity and refine your skills. If you're willing, I would love if you would check out his page and give it a like and a follow.

One of the things I’m most proud of in my social media management of White Oak Coffee House’s secondary location has been the development and promotion of a secret menu.

Creating QR codes for customers to scan, I developed a form that helps them create a custom drink and name it. This not only provides data on the flavors and composition that are most popular, but also encourages engagement with their social media. Thank you so much, White Oak, for being openminded to my ideas and, therefore, the inspiration for starting as a freelancer!

Happy Grandparents Day!

Francis and Vida took this picture just a few years after their marriage. Francis spent all his working years as a pastor, preacher and leader. Vida created a safe, inviting space at home for their six children and friends. Much of what I know about Francis & Vida I learned from their children, including my mother.

As their grandson, I’ve been motivated to speak persuasively and to create safe places. Perhaps I might have learned these things somewhere else. But I have been privileged to learn from my grandparents, Francis & Vida. I’m Neal Hartzell, genealogist and I'd love to help you highlight the best lessons learned from your ancestors. Zip me a message and we’ll get started

This morning, I has the pleasure of meeting with Marti Mocahbee to help her with the launch of her social media presence! Marti is an exceptional porcelain ceramicist based out of Newport, Kentucky. Her pieces are decorative, yet functional in nature, hand-painting her designs with slip and underglazes. She was most recently awarded first prize in ceramics at Cincinnati's Summer Fair and will be traveling to North Carolina this week for a show out there! Checkout her page and give it a like to see more of her work in the coming months.

Happy National Blueberry Picking Day!

This photo was not taken by me but is free to use and share. Social media doesn't need to be graphics and videos, it can be as simple and painless as a photo you find online. The hard part is knowing when you can legally share photos you have not taken with or without crediting the original photographer. As a social media manager, knowing the proper protocol and tools to make it easy is apart of my job.

Happy July 1st! July is National Lost Pet Prevention Month as well as National Parks and Recreation Month. This photo was taken at Mount Airy Forest Park. This month, don't forget to get out and take your pet for a walk at your local park and recreation center--just don't forget to tag them and keep them on a leash at all times!

Happy National Social Media Day!

People use different types of social media for a lot of things. For some people, it's a free way to connect with friends and family; For others, it's a marketplace; And for others, it's a source for artistic inspiration. Whatever your reason, we're glad you're here, and if you ever need to step away, that's alright, too.

I had the honor of connecting with several artists at Pendleton Art Center Cincinnati last night! If you’re not familiar with PAC, they house 8 floors of art studios for local artists in every medium from painting, to beading, to metalwork, to ceramics. This was my second time attending and I only made it through 2-3 floors each visit, but the artists are friendly and welcoming, and are expressing their Cincinnati pride with each work of art.

It's International Pineapple Day!

Did you know that while Hawaii is the highest producer of pineapples, it's not native to Hawaii? Actually, the earliest recording of pineapples came from the West Indies, which were then brought to other parts of North America for mass production, even though it takes approximately 2 years for a pineapple plant to produce fruit. So, the next time you eat a pineapple, be mindful of the energy and love it takes to produce this sweet fruit!

Juneteenth, or Jubilee Day, commemorates the emancipation of formerly enslaved humans who, after the Emancipation Proclamation, were forcibly moved by their captors to Galveston, Texas. Thankfully, although almost 2 years later, these individuals were emancipated on June 19th, 1865. In 2021, Juneteenth was affirmed as a federal holiday, pushing companies and individuals to continue the fight for equity and justice in a still unjust society. Acknowledging the holiday on social media is necessary, but not sufficient--Juneteenth is both a celebration of historical progress and a reminder to continue to push for more.

If you still feel unfamiliar with the history of Juneteenth or how to celebrate/seek justice, below are a few resources that only scratch the surface to inform your celebration.
