The leak calls are starting.
Here's what to do.
1) take photos and videos of the issue and Facebook message or text me.
2) we will get you scheduled ASAP for tomorrow. We will come with tarps in hand in case we need to tarp your roof.
3) we'll create a plan of action to fix the leak.
We have an emergency roofing crew on standby and they're ready to deploy when the sun rises.
Hang in there. We're here to help.
The weather report for tomorrow looks intense ⛈️⚡ 🌬️
Heavy rain, heavy wind, and possible hail. Should start around 11am and get worse in the afternoon.
Here's what you should do first thing in the morning...
1. Take photos all around your home. If the storm damages your roof, siding, gutters, windows, doors, fence, etc it will be good to have before photos to prove the damage came from this storm. All home owners insurance claims have to be sudden losses, not existing or maintenance related.
2. Take photos of your car and other personal property like glass or metal tables. Same logic above.
3. Take down hanging flower baskets, remove umbrellas from their bases, and bungee or tie down any items that could go flying.
4. Make sure your downspouts are connected to your gutters.
5. Make sure your sump pumps are operational.
6. Have your home owners insurance agent's number handy in case you need to file a claim.
7. Make sure you have batteries ready to go for those flashlights. I have a feeling some of us will be needing them.
8. If you've had a roof leak in the past, try to get into your attic space if possible and pack the area with towels and put a tarp or a black contractor bag under the towels.
9. Save our number - 201.317.2198. We have crews ready to go for emergency tarping or even emergency repairs depending on the severity of the damage. Text will likely be fastest.
Introducing Kelsey "Mini Maven" Praml 🥰🥰🥰
This is part of my WHY.
I am building a legacy for my girls to one day have as their own. I am teaching them to love construction and building and design. I am showing them that making something of yourself is not easy and it takes hard work, grit, and perseverance. I am encouraging them to take risks - even allowing Kelsey to climb roofs with me safely.
One day, Maven will be Kelsey's and Cara's and I'll be able to step back and watch them take the reigns and create what they want from the foundation that I built.

While I am LOVING this rain for my gardens, I realize some of you may be experiencing some roof leaks 🌧️ ☔ 🌩️
If you notice a roof leak during this crazy rain, it's important to act quickly to minimize damage to your home. Here are the steps you should follow:
1. Contain the leak:
Place a bucket or container under the leak to catch the water. Ideally, you do this in your attic to mitigate water coming down into the ceiling.
If the leak is causing a bulge in your ceiling, you can use a screwdriver or similar tool to poke a small hole in the center of the bulge to allow the water to drain into the bucket.
2. Protect your belongings:
Move furniture and other items away from the leaking area to prevent water damage.
If necessary, cover items with plastic sheeting or tarps to protect them from further damage.
3. Document the damage:
Take photos or videos of the leaking area, water damage, and any affected belongings. This will be helpful for potential insurance claims later on.
4. Inspect the attic:
If it's safe to do so, inspect your attic to identify the source of the leak. This can help you understand the extent of the damage and provide valuable information to a roofing professional.
5. Temporary fixes:
If you can locate the source of the leak, you may be able to apply a temporary fix if it's reachable and safe to do so from a ladder. Applying roofing tar or a tarp can help minimize the leak until a professional can repair it. Keep in mind that this is not a permanent solution and should only be done if you have experience with roofing repairs. Never climb on your roof while it's raining or storming.
6. Contact a roofing professional:
As soon as possible, contact a licensed roofing contractor to inspect the damage and provide a professional repair. Do not attempt to fix the roof yourself, as this can be dangerous and may cause further damage.
7. Contact your insurance company:
If the damage is significant enough, inform your home insuranc
This is the start of something beautiful 😍
