Why
We love music - it’s part of our DNA here at West Side Sound. There’s just something about throwing on an album, sitting back with a glass of bourbon, and listening only to listen; to get nothing out of it but what the creator put in. There’s also something about creating music - lyrics, sound, the complicated (yet oh so fun) recording process sets us free and gives us no greater high.
We also love our community of Grand Rapids, MI. Couple these passions together and you have a source of un-ending energy that is not easily quenched. We believe that making music doesn’t have to be expensive and complicated - just plug in a mic, instrument or amp and let the magic happen. We love that aspect about recording - the magic of creation. Let us help you find that magic, it would be our honor.
Grand Rapids is home, pure and simple. It goes deeper, though. Grand Rapids is one of the fastest growing cities in the country - period. The explosive growth of this city has caused firms to buy whole parcels of land and throw up apartments/condos/businesses. These changes are fantastic, but they can cause local residents to scoff at the prices that are being tagged on things as the city gets bigger. Housing prices have soared, as well as rent leaving many scratching their heads wondering what to do.
With this in mind, we’ve surveyed the local market and have determined that the cost for recording a quality album can be too expensive.
