At 6PM Eastern Snug Harbor Radio will cease broadcast to the public. We regret having to do this but the cost of royalty payments is too high in the current USA economic situation. Snug Harbor Radio may continue public broadcast at some future time but the cost to carry right now is too much.

We appreciate the support of jazz and blues fans over the years and look forward to streaming again under more favorable conditions

NEW LOWER SPEEDS FOR AAC+ LISTENERS

We have made a change to our AAC+ m4a stream. The prior goal was to generate an offering that is more efficient than MP3 but with similar quality. The goal now is to reach listeners that have web service quota limits such as cell hots spots or other bandwidth limited provider restrictions but who still want our great radio sound. AAC+ still sounds very good at 24kbps so we lowered the AAC+ stream to that rate (from 64kbps). This also lets us increase the number of simultaneous listeners we can support from 3 to 9. AAC+ relay is SHR served. It is also our preferred port for cell phone use.
