Kevin Severin - Writer/Director/Editor

AUTOBIOGRAPHY My name is Kevin Severin and I am the creator of Ionic Films. I got into film when I was a junior in high school when I wanted to record my band trips in order to preserve to memories for the future. This led to an increased interest in filming and editing until I ultimately decided to major in Creative Media Production at the University of Oklahoma. In college, I took courses with skilled professors where I learned the tips and tricks when it came to writing, producing, directing, and editing films. Over the summers, I have worked for Amaranthine Studios as a cinematographer/sound engineer and the Enid Television Network as a camera operator. Most recently, I wrote and created a Star Wars inspired hype video, highlighting Baker Mayfield's Heisman Trophy campaign. It was featured by Sports Illustrated and appeared in numerous newspapers including the Atlanta-Journal Constitution and the Austin American-Statesman. To date, I have filmed/edited 7 feature length films in high school and 5 short films in college. Upon finishing college, I hope to find permanent employment as a writer/director/editor.

HOBBIES In my spare time, I like to read, listen to music, play the saxophone/piano, write screenplays, and clean my desk. This is my third season playing the tenor saxophone in both the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band and the Sound of the Sooners Basketball Band and in my time in the both bands, I have traveled to Miami, Lexington, New Orleans, Seattle, Columbus, Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh. I have appeared in a couple short films as middle-aged Scout in "Ad Astra" and as Russell in another short film titled "Russell". I have a great passion for filmmaking and love to tell stories.
