* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Far southeast Kansas
Southwest to central Missouri

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon from 530 PM until Midnight
CDT.

* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Multicell clusters should develop along a cold front and
spread east-southeast this evening with a primary threat of damaging
winds.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65
statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles north northwest
of Columbia MO to 15 miles south southwest of Monett MO. For a
complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline

Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Limited hail risk.
Limited thunderstorm wind damage risk.
Limited lightning risk.
Significant excessive heat risk.
Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

Thunderstorms over southeast Kansas will track eastward into
western Missouri this morning. Some of these storms will be strong
with winds to 50 mph and half inch hail. These storms are expected
to diminish in coverage later this morning then increase again
this afternoon.

There will be a limited risk for severe storms...with better
chances across central Missouri into this evening. Damaging wind
gusts up to 60 mph and hail to the size of quarters will be
possible with the stronger storms.

Heat index values of 95 to 105 will be possible this afternoon
into the early evening.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Heat index values of 100 to 105 will be possible along the
Missouri Arkansas border on Sunday.

Hot and humid conditions will return for the middle to end of
next week.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activitation is not expected to be needed today or
tonight, however some strong to severe storms will be possible,
especially across Central Missouri.

At 1017 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Walnut to Erie to near St.
Paul. Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around

This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms have produced widespread
wind damage across northeast Oklahoma and McDonald County. SEEK

If on or near Table Rock Lake, get away from the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter

At 139 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Grove to near Maysville to near West Siloam
Springs, moving northeast at 50 mph.

THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR MCDONALD AND SOUTHWESTERN BARRY
COUNTIES!

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. Significant wind damage has been
reported from the Tulsa metropolitan area northeast to
near the Missouri and Oklahoma state line.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

These severe storms will be near...
Noel around 150 AM CDT.
Lanagan around 155 AM CDT.
Pineville and Anderson around 200 AM CDT.

..A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 200 AM CDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN DELAWARE COUNTY...

At 145 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 5 miles north of South West City, moving northeast at 65
mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.
