In this report we hear from Sutter Coast Hospital CEO Mitch Hanna, Del Norte County Public Health Officer Dr. Aaron Stutz, DNUSD Superintendent Jeff Harris and Crescent City Manager Eric Wier.
In an incredible case of differing realities, some 30 people were protesting against “Vaccine Mandates” in front of Crescent City’s, Sutter Coast Hospital. While the Hospital is swamped with Covid-19 patients.
There are currently (according to Del Norte County Public Health) 16 people in the hospital as a result of the disease. Some observers believe that count will increase when official numbers are released later this afternoon.
Del Norte County is being hit harder than at any time during the pandemic and the County Fair ended just yesterday.
More cases and (perhaps) more hospitalizations may be right around the corner for a Hospital and Community that’s lacking the resources to cope with them.
