Another rodeo in the books!

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this year's Cody Stampede a huge success. Our professional events paid out over $350,000. Congratulations to our 2022 champions! Now we are back to the Cody Nite Rodeo starting July 5th at 8 p.m.

Cotton Rosser was a true gentleman and we are thinking of his family and many friends.

Our loss is heaven's gain --
Cotton Rosser, a legend in the rodeo world and beyond passed away at the age of 93 on June 22. He and his Flying U Rodeo have produced the Reno Rodeo for over 60 years. He won the spurs there in the saddle bronc riding in 1950. A year before that he was the reserve champion all-around cowboy at the very first CNFR representing Cal Poly. That rodeo was held at the Cow Palace. When the Cow Palace couldn't host the event in 1951, it moved to Texas. Cotton, who had his pilot's license flew his teammates to compete. He believed in college rodeo and his children and grandchildren continued their educations in and out of the arena at the storied institution. Rosser's grandaughter, Linsay Rosser-Sumpter is coaching at Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado. His family is busy producing the Reno Rodeo and Cotton, who was dubbed the P.T. Barnum of rodeo would be the first to say, "The show must go on!" College rodeo would not be what it is today without the influence of Cotton Rosser.
